*I* don't drool over outtakes which I'm sure were very hard and embarrassing for the actors that were in them.

*I* don't paint pictures of ducks on walls and then knock them down.

*I* am not a fan of rape.

*I* do not go out, get locks of hair from an actor, and PIN THEM TO MY PHSYCICAL BODY.

And *I* am not some sort of cult leader or prophet who controls the minds of my followers with, I admit, well worded but exceedingly idiotic posts.

I enjoy the shows for what they are, fiction.

When YOU people talk about the Buffyverse, you bash the actors.

You sit there and say shit like, "SMG and JM should have gotten together, because that would be sooooo hawt! *squeeeee*"

You sit there and think that the entire universe is real and revolves around Spike.

Even when all evidence, ALL evidence points to the contrary (SMG's comments, JM's comments, Espoison's comments, Shithead's comments) you refuse to see it.

It's the Spuffy logic.

A. It's canon as long as it's what you want to hear.

B. If it goes against your beloved Spikeywikey, it doesn't exist.

C. If someone says something other than what you want to believe, that person sux0rs and must be flamed and emailed and called nasty names because they obviously don't know about the flamey hands of luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurve.

See, the problem I think that we have when we try to deal with people like you is this. We use logic, facts, and common sense.

Three things that you people completely lack.

You people go out and flame a book, that many of you have never even read because of the fact that your precious Spikey isn't at the forefront of every page. You flame it because it's completely within canon of the shows, just not in your own personal canon where you and Spike have sex 18 times a day and rape is kewl.

And all this shit with the Watcher's Guide 3. I want you people to realize something.

The Watcher's Guide is the OFFICIAL guidebook to the Buffyverse.

It was approved by Mutant Enemy.

It was approved by Fox.

It was approved by Joss.

I mean come on. You name your board "Cold Dead Seed". How the fuck can you expect ANYONE to take you seriously?

You're the lunatic fringe. You really are. Every group, from tv fans to politicions to religions has it's extremists who do their best to make the group as a whole look bad.

That'd be you.

Buffy. Is. In. Love. With. Angel. Period end of sentence.

The simple fact is, that in CANON (ie, the official view of the show), Buffy is in love with Angel. That's the end of it.

You can point to TGIQ. You can sit there and say "But Andrew said....", but come on. You're going to take the word of Andrew? ANDREW?

You know what Andrew's purpose is on the show?

He's a Mary Sue. He's the Spiker. He's the physical embodiement of you out there. He's the guy who drools over Spike. He's the guy who does whatever he can to make sure that in the end, Spike's the one who comes out on top. Andrew is YOU. Andrew is you and the Wet Panty Brigade writers given character form.

When it comes right down to it, I don't hate you because you're Spuffers. I don't hate you because you like Spike. I don't hate you because of an ideological difference.

I hate you because you are a group of mentally unstable, vicious, vile, hate-filled, insane extremeists. I hate you because you are hypocrites. I hate you because when I listen to you speak, I literally become afraid for the people around you. When I think of the things that you people have done, I literally fear for your families. I fear for your friends. I am afraid of how any impressionable minds around you will turn out.

Violence begets violence. Insanity breeds insanity. And the simple fact is, you have those two in spades. I could draw comparisons here between this fandom and religious extremeists. Is it an extreme comparison? Yes. But it is valid. And that is why I am afraid for those around you.

You spew your hate, you spew your insults, you spew your rhetoric, you spew your vile. You spew it at actors portraying a role. You spew it at people who have opposing viewpoints. You are nothing more than hate-filled bigots.

Me? I'm a fucking attack dog.

You want to attack them? You want to attack the actors?

You're not even on their level.

They are so far above you that it's not even funny.

But me? I relish it down here in the muck. And the grime. And the filth.

If you come at us, I will own you right in your fucking faces.

I had joined that board a while ago (under a practice email address I thought I had closed after my dad's roomate, Erik, had showed me how to do it correctly after I forgot my password)out of anger after hearing they were infiltrating our's and reporting what we were saying (they actually bought that I was a B/A shipper. Feeding their ego works, I guess.). I hadn't visited it untill recently when I found a small notepad with my password it after my dad searched for some cds ina desk.

Everything they said is genuine and comes from a thread called "I Hate It Here!: part 4". I was so pissed/amused they would actually come over and talk to my friends and me like that and then spew what they did that I had to report it before I shut down my account entirely.

While I'm glad to show they aren't fooling anyone and giving people a chance to stick up for themselves, I felt bad for not being truthful to you all. Hope you don't hate me.

Anyway... is he aware that when "The Watchers Guide" came out, Angel was still on the show and Spike was only a recurring character? How does that count for more than Joss's own comments at the very end of the show?

Not that I was a Spuffy fan, actually; I just think it's better than Bangel, which I thought was thouroughly revolting. I actually stopped watching the show for a year because I couldn't handle any more Bangle. Then I had to start again because all RL my friends discovered it and I was left out of conversation. :D

The final Watchers Guide is out in the UK now. On the Spuffy thread people were asking for my opinion on it and I said there was a really sappy B/A essay and overall the book wasn't worth your money. All it had was an episode guide, it didn't even have the character profiles that the last two had. I guess that's what he's refering to when saying we should be satisifed with the Watchers Guide because it's canon.

And the Heat book people were laughing about was a novel with B/A with sentences like "Oh Angel my love, my one true love". So reviews on amazon were making fun of it. And some people were saying they were going to contact FOX and ask if we could have adult B/S books, as well as the teen books. The B/A people were telling one another that Nancy Holder was being censored, and Spuffy fans were trying to destroy the Buffy book franchise. Apparently negative reviews=censorship and attempts to destroy an innocent womans career. So the B/A fans were encouraging one another to post reviews and saying things like at least B/A shippers aren't rapist lovers. And the whole thing on amazon turned into a big shipping war with both sides attacking one another. Those posts have been removed now though, because I contacted amazon about the irrelevence of the reviews when half the people hadn't read the book.

I am so confused. Why is there a fandom wank out now about Spuffy? Buffy has been gone for 2 years now...wouldn't the time for the wank have been back when Buffy was on? Or at least when Angel was still on. And WTF is that whole thing about the ducks? Who does that? And why? What do ducks have to do with Spuffy?
I will admit there are some bad extreme Spuffys out there.....just as there are bad extreme Buffy/Angel fans (do they have a name?). Every ship in every fandom has them. That does not mean that everyone who ships that couple is like those few. And even if they are....what does it matter to you? Just don't go to their sites. Ignore them when they talk about pinning hair to their bodies (did someone do that?). In other words act like an adult! For crying out loud it's fiction! And while I enjoy that fiction and I will admit it takes up way more of my life then it should I am not going to say that someone shouldn't breed just because they don't agree with me.

FYI B/A fans can be called Bangels, but I think most of them self-identify as Ducks because if you're a B/A fan you probably post on the Ducks board. I think there was an original Ducks board separate from this, and the posts people are laughing at are from the new extremist board? And they're just a tiny hateful minority among B/A shippers.
