I actually think this could be better than trying to continue it with Jack, Gwen, and a whole bunch of new people in the existing sets. If it was a complete new start with John Barrowman and a new American cast I would prefer it in some ways. It will have the same writers so I'm going to assume that it will be a kind of continuation of Jack's story, rather than the dreaded remake with co-existing characters being replaced by American actors

But most people seem to think this has fail written all over it, so perhaps I am looking at it too optimistically *g*

Ha ha, true. I heard they're remaking Skins and Being Human. I just can't get over how pathetic they can get. Don't they have their own creative ideas?

I've not seen Being Human, but remaking Skins will suck hardcore. Part of what appeals to me is that they have shortened seasons so they don't need to stretch the storylines out annoyingly, and use ridiculous plots (although 8 seasons this series is a little too short for me granted :P ). And I also appreciate that all the actors are of the correct age for the characters. Plus actually having sex, swearing, and even nudity

Which seems like pretty much the opposite of the way that the US does teen drama, so really why bother :/ Do you know which network it will air on?

Dr Who type stuff made in America isn't a good idea. It's already been tried in the mid 90s Doctor Who movie that was a US production and it was total crap. They got it all wrong. But then I feel Torchwood was mostly crap anyway. Maybe if they killed Owen and Gwen in the first ep it would be better.

I have to admit I was never a big fan of Owen. He seemed to grow on people during season 2 but I never particularly cared when they killed off. Tosh's death was much sadder for me
