I'm wondering if they're planning for it to replace the UK version actually if it's going to include the same writers (and RTD) as well as John Barrowman. They've pretty much killed off almost all the cast on current TW, and DW saw Captain Jack out on space on his own and seperated from Gwen and Rhys as well, so maybe it's being planned as more of a continuation with Jack based in America with an all- new cast? People have been wondering how they can possibly continue with current TW with the cast that they have left, and still keep enough people watching...

If it's a remake than that would be totally pointless I agree
