What is the preferred LJ etiquette for behaviour in someone elses LJ?

If you were discussing a show or fandom in your LJ, and a friend of yours confronted another friend of yours for their comments in said post, how would you respond? Would you feel that they were disrespecting your personal space, or do you consider your fandom posts to be akin to a message board, and hope that people feel free to confront other fans in a discussion that you are "hosting"

If any of that makes sense *frowns*

I don't put up with fighting on my LJ. It's my space, not a public board. If people squabble, I tell them to knock it off.

Cool, thanks! I'm just weighing up what the general consensus is *g*

Well, honestly, I don't think it matters what the consensus is-- what matters is that you do what YOU are comfortable with, I think. After all, it's your space:-).

It's more my behaviour in other peoples LJ that I am worrying about *g* It feels like a lot of fandom has shifted over to LJ, and I suppose that I'm contemplating how much that has changed the way that we interact, and how it will come across if two fans want to er vigorously talk out an issue. Should we take a step back and think that some people don't want that sort of harshness in their own space, or is it fine to talk it out anyway, provided you are basically polite

I suppose a lot would depend on how well you know the LJ owner, and whether you know they would be comfortable with it or not.
