Old-school Spike all the way!! I just re-watched his first appearance last week and - yes! That's the Spike I loved. (Also, Dru. OTP4EVA!)

*hides from the spuffy shippers* ;)

I loved Spike and Dru so much at the time. That was before I was on-line and knew what a shipper was, but I used to listen to songs and picture Spike/Dru :P

I wasn't sure about adding in Ats or not. He was fantastic in In The Dark, maybe I should have included season 1 of Ats. Hmm

It's check boxes, so you can always vote for more than one season, if you really can't decide ;)

If the Spike movie ever happens, I would love historical flashbacks to Spike and Dru. I always thought it would be great to see them at Woodstock amongst all the flower people getting high lol.

There was a really great fic I don't know where to find now, from the perspective of Sunday, and it was such a great look at the Spike/Dru dynamic.

But most people campaigning for the Spike film seemed against it being all evil Spike

He was great when he was all vicious and bad-ass.

FFL was the ultimate Spike episode for me, what with him killing the slayers, and being a punk *drools* And all the Spuffy mixed up in among the history lesson

Season 5 Spike is my favourite because he made me feel more, but I can't deny the appeal of Spike in episodes like In The Dark and School Hard

"Who am I kidding. I love to brag!" *giggles*

I know which one I voted for, but I just have to say that I loved all seasons of Spike. I loved the Big Bad, and I loved to see how his character changed and evolved.

I agree :) I loved Spike back in season 2, and just grew to love him more over the years. But from the very beginning I adored Spike and Dru, and they got me more into the show

five, six and seven were all noteworthy. I liked him in five because it was a turning point for his character. He became kinder and more compassionate while still holding onto enough punk ass to amuse you.

In six, I loved him for being the only one that saw what the rest of the scoobies did by brining buffy back. And he was the only one that was really there for her. He was the truly selfless one in that season.

In seven, because he was now one of the good guys, even when he went bad. You just couldn't help but to love him because he had changed so completely from early era spike.

I love all the Spike's too - every season he was there. My favourites are seasons 5 and 6, but I adore episodes in every other one too so...

Season 5 was my choice. It felt like the first time we really got a focus on his character and developing him. It made a nice change after season 4 had him as mostly comic relief only. Season 5 also saw Spike interacting with the scoobies more towards the end, and his sweet outsider bonding with Dawn. It felt like the season full of possibilities and redemption

I just loved James getting the chance for intense acting in episodes like Crush when he's torn between Buffy and Dru, and there's that heartbreaking look at the door.

And of course FFL was the greatest Spike episode they ever did

season 5, for sure. Fool for Love is one of my favourite episodes and spike is such a compelling character for that whole season.

Season 5 was the one I decided to go with :) Along with season 7, it has the most Spike-centric episodes, and really developed the redemption arc
