Well I tried Veronica Mars. I've seen the first two episodes so far. I wasn't sure after episode one, and I still don't see why everyone loves Logan lol. But I got a lot more into the second episode. I like Veronica.

So far it's more interesting than Lost anyway...
Logan gets better as the season goes on... in the first like 6 episodes or so he's an a-hole though but when you get his whole story he‘s great.
Yeah he's kind of being a jerk lol

He seems really popular on my flist, so maybe he'll grow on me.

You have a long way to go before you'll probably start to like Logan. You don't have much reason to like him yet, especially if you're only at episode 2. Logan love tends to sneak up on you later.

I'm still waiting for our networks to buy VM. But I saw whole season 1 of Lost and any show *must* be better.

I think my early reactions were, "Yay, Weevil!" "Logan's such a dick" and "What's the big deal about Duncan?" :)

If you like Veronica and you're into the murder mystery, that's all they're really trying to get across at this point.

Logan at the beginning of the season is a completely unlovable ass. But just trust me that the Logan-love is not delusional, or unearned. You'll see why.

Heh. When I started watching the show I didn't see why everyone loved it so much, and I sure as hell didn't get the Logan love. I can completely pinpoint the moment that all changed for me. And it's not that you will necessarily love Logan, but once you get him, it makes the character really worthwhile to watch.

I can see you liking him. You love Spike and you love Pacey, which tells me you are a sucker for the underdog who is all snark on the outside and a complete fool for love at his core. That's Logan, dude. You just don't know it yet, though you'll start to get a sense of how much he loved Lilly via the flashbacks.

And yeah... more interesting than Lost.

Well I watched all episodes, and there are some moments and characters I like. But I don't get why it's so popular. Same thing with Desperate Housewives. *shrug* Not my type of shows I guess.

At least get to the fourth episode-- that one's one of my favorites, and I think is a really good episode for conveying the nature of the show, it's balance of cases-of-the-week versus the overall plot, and adds depth to all of the characters, really.

And yes, Logan's layers are peeled back as the season goes on. By episode twelve, you see there is much more to him than appears. Weevil remains awesome throughout the season. Duncan is the only one who I personally never really warmed up to, but he's tolerable and has his moments.

I think the show in general just improves as it goes-- even at its weakest points, it is far from terrible. And, unlike what turned me off of Lost, the questions it brings up are actually answered, instead of dragged on and on endlessly. The character developments are really great, too. I think it's a very worthwhile show to get hooked onto.

I don't like Duncan... at all.

Well, I watch Lost. Sort of. I've caught about half the season. I just don't see where it's going. And it's dull. I feel like I'm the only person who realises how fucking dull this show is. And it's not that I find it bad, exactly. But the spoon out such small portions of information I don't see how I'm supposed to care, you know? Also, the characters don't actually develop. It's like they've substituted progression for backstory, which goes a long way to explaining why a character is how they is, but goes absolutely nowhere towards making them grow and change.

I take lack of character development lightly with the show. Technically they have only been on the island for 40 some odd days.

Stick with it!

And that's a hot icon.
That pretty much is his fatal flaw throughout the season. It doesn't help that he's played by Teddy Dunn, who in comparison with the rest of the really awesome cast is on the... lackluster side, so to speak.

But, really, the good thing is that I don't actively dislike him. I don't think there's really anything that makes me hate him-- most of the time, he's just there. Which is another thing that's different from Lost for me: I don't hate any of the characters, I like them all on some level, most even love.

Yep. And the one I'm watching sucks.

But in all seriousness, I realise that mine is not the popular opinion, but I really don't see much progress on the show at all. But it's good that you have a show that you are enthused about. I've got enough on my plate tv-wise that not liking Lost that much doesn't hurt me any.

I wasn't that gone on Logan after the first couple of episodes either. He grows on you though. Bit like a fungus that way. It's the snark that gets you I think. Though I really started appreciating the actor before the character. Kid does a heckuva job.

After sampling 5 episodes I just have to give up and admit that I'm one of those people who just aren't attracted to this series. I could explain all the reasons why (because so many people love it, I actually did stop to try to figure out why it doesn't work for me) but really it all boils down to this just isn't a show for me.

First you find him to be odd and disturbing. Then the intense dislike kicks in and then.... He... *waves hands*

Lost just lost Ha! Horrid pun! momentum. The characters are still fun but the show itself? Kinda really boring and awful in places.

At first I was floored by the story telling. Then I fell in love with Sawyer like whoa. And I had a lot of Boone lovers squeeing at me. So I had those little things to cling to when plots and stuff started to go the way of predictibility. I was thinking of giving up entirely, but I'm no quitter! If I want to like a show you have to *force* me off of it! *eyes Chris Carter*

*NODs* He really did at first. I remember sitting there going "I thought everyone *LIKED* this guy, I just wanna kick him one and snark him back into toddler stage." but, I gotta admit, the actor started impressing me and the storylines deepened and things got interesting. He'll interest you before you like him I think. That's how it worked with me. I'm still at the "okay, you didn't suck as badly as I thought you did." stage warming up to really liking.

Duncan, however, is as interesting to me as a wooden block. Resembles one too :-p

Yay :) As a HUGE die-hard obessed massive Buffy/Spike fan (which, from smgboard, I'm thinkin' is something we have in common ;) ) I really think you will end up enjoying at least Logan and hopefully the whole show

I saw that someone else said that Ep 4 is awesome - it is. It's definitely a turning point for the characters.

So keep your flisties posted on your likes/dislikes ok? :)

Well a lot of people love the series so I assume it has valuable content. It just hits some of my "irk" buttons so I've just never been attracted to it. After giving 5 eps I decided I really wasn't goint to be attracted. Doesn't mean it's not a good show, just that it isn't my cup of tea.
