They look so good together.

Of course there's already organized protests and various people being e-mailed because OMG Spike shouldn't dare be on the cover with Buffy!

Don't people have anything better to do with their time?

I avoid the anti boards, with all their bile, so I don't know where it's being discussed. But on Sparklies people were admiring Spike on the DVD cover, and quite a few posters mentioned that certain fan groups are already mailing their 'concerns' to FOX and various other people about Spike being on the cover.

Word.

And how can you not admire Spike with his pimp necklace! He makes the cover look so beautiful. I love Spike wearing the jewelery. Remember in Dead Things when him and Buffy had sex on the balcony and you saw his hand with the thumb ring creeping up her leg *drool*

Oh the places that thumb ring has gone.......mmmmm........

And yeah, that's one of those things I don't get too worked up over, because I'm not huge into the shipping. I don't write people about dvd's or books or magazines or anything. I'll never say no to a Spuffy book or a picture of Spikey, but it won't upset me a lot if all the rest of the Buffy books are Bangel. I just won't read 'em. And well, I'm a former Bangel, so I don't mind it either. If people want to delude themselves into thinking B/A is somehow forever and ever....that's their business. As much as it makes me cringe a bit, I think it's probably Spangel forever!! :)

Though I did get a little miffed when my collectors cards had the scene from Seeing Red. I just think that's unnecessary! But I'm too darned apathetic and/or lazy to do anything about it.

Well I know some Spuffy people write to FOX asking for Spuffy positive books or Spuffy collection plates, the same as Bangel gets. I think there's a big difference in campaigning for your own ship, and moaning negatively all the time, which is generally what the anti Spike and Spuffy campaigns are about.

Like in season 7 when they were pretending to be former rape victims just so they could prevent Spuffy, it wasn't as if it would do any good for their own ship even, as DB was on another show. They just seemed to want to destroy the competition. Some of the antis seem such joyless and bitter people.

And lol, I take it you still feel gyped over the SR card?

People actually pretended to be former rape victims??? OMG, that's just wrong on Oh-So-Many-Levels.

You don't know the half of what went on in. You had a lucky escape not getting involved in the Buffy fandom with all us loons ;)

Hmm. Ok, honestly, as much as I love(d?) Spike, I wish they'd done the whole cast on the cover instead. Or just the original core cast of the Scoobies. Seeing as how it was the last season and all. *nostalgic*

Yeah, but Spike was on more than Giles when it comes down to all the seasons, and showed up in what would have normally been the First season of the show. (Since the first season only went 11 episodes)

I just think he IS a core character, in a way.

Also, he died saving the world and season seven wasn't much about Scoobies, (unfortunately) so I think the cover is fine, except I would prefer a better picture, but as far as I know, they didn't make any.

No, I don't think there was any new promo shots for season 7.

They've never had the whole cast on there. The most they've ever done is three characters so I don't know if they'd even fit the whole cast.

It would have been nice if the core scoobies were used in the season more, then the cover could reflect that. But Giles's main role was to pull a gotcha over being the First Evil, Willow was to whine about magic and snog Kennedy, Xander to fix windows and get his eye patch. None of them had much of a role so I think it's fair that the two characters with the biggest storyline, Spike and Buffy, got their place on the DVD.

After all a lot of us wouldn't be buying the DVD if not for B/S, season 7 wasn't one of the stronger seasons, what with all the whiny potentials. They should have used the core scoobies for the season 5 cover, that was the season about family bonds.

I won't disagree that Spike and Buffy had the biggest storylines in the seventh season, so I guess it makes sense. I just wish they had spent more time on the rest of the cast, but alas.

IMO, Spike was kinda shoe-horned into the season (not that I minded, but that's what it felt like to me); and this isn't the only incidence of shoe-horning. I was Very surprised when he had ended up on a disk for the Season Three DVD's; like Hello! he was only in ONE episode. And what about Giles?!

I Lurve Spike (And Spuffy); I'm as a big a fan of him/them as they come (been to the conventions, got the action figures), but even I can see that there were times when his presence seemed to take over a lot of the show, which wouldn't have been bad necessarily, except for it being to the detriment of the rest of the cast. ::sigh::

I think I just wish they'd had the core scoobies on at least ONE of the covers. :\

Oh I dunno. I thought the reason there was less Xander was because the writers were bored of him and replaced him with Andrew. And the potentials, Kennedy, Wood all popped up in season 7. I don't think TPTB would have spend time on certain characters anyway, otherwise they wouldn't be introducing fresh blood. Even if Spike wasn't around I don't think Xander would have got a great storyline. If they had stories to tell about the neglected characters I'm sure they would have included them regardless of Spike's presence. They didn't seem all that inspired though. If they should have got rid of anyone it was the potentials IMO.

The season 6 DVD had Buffy/Xander/Willow on it so that's the "core cast". I guess Giles wasn't on it because ASH wanted to leave as a full-time cast member at that time.

I do agree about Spike being included on season 3 being rather bizarre *g*

Ugh, don't even get me started on the "Potentials" (<-- how ironic since they actually stole the 'potential' from the show XP).

Don't mind me, I'm just bitter because it all went so-very-downhill from S4 on.

The season 6 DVD had Buffy/Xander/Willow on it so that's the "core cast".

Were they? Oh ok. I am a bad BtVS fan because I only have Seasons 1-4 on DVD. :P
