The Jim Henson Company's Hit Sci-Fi Series Farscape Comes To Amazon Prime Video On Tuesday, March 19th

Beginning Tuesday, March 19, The Jim Henson Company's groundbreaking sci-fi series Farscape will be available in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the Nordics, and several other countries around the world on Amazon Prime Video. All four seasons in HD (88 x 60'), plus the Emmy®-nominated mini-series finale – also newly remastered in HD - will be available. Die-hard fans and sci-fi aficionados can binge, watch, and re-watch the entire award-winning cult favorite that has earned its place in science fiction canon.

Throughout the coming year, fans will have multiple ways to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Farscape, which first premiered on March 19, 1999. In addition to the launch on Prime Video, enthusiasts can expect fan events and various licensing initiatives including a special edition vinyl soundtrack release from Music.Film Recordings and Varèse Saraband this summer. Collectors can look for products from Chronicle Collectibles, Toy Vault, and Trevco in the coming months. 'Scapers' (Farscape fans) are encouraged to follow the official Farscape social channels using the fan-created hashtag #FarscapeNow for specific Prime Video territory details and any upcoming announcements.

I soo need to have a rewatch, it’s been absolutely years now, but there’s always so much new content to watch on streaming sites that I never get around to my old shows much any more :( This year does feel like the perfect time for a rewatch though. Any fans want to discuss favourite seasons and episodes? My favourite season would be season 3, favourite characters are John and Aeryn naturally, and my top episodes would be

Nerve/The Hidden Memory

Crackers Don’t Matter

The Way We Weren’t

Won’t Get Fooled Again

Die Me, Dichotomy

Relativity

Scratch ‘n’ Sniff

Infinite Possibilities two-parter

The Choice

Into The Lion’s Den two-parter

Kansas/Terra Firma

A Constellation of Doubt

Oh cool, Prime should make it a lot easier for me to continue to make progress. Clearly I’ve picked a good time to finally watch this show! :)

:D It has been frustrating to have it be one of the few shows not available on streaming at all, or even to buy on iTunes, this should definitely help with encouraging more new fans to check out the show.

I am so stoked!!! I haven't had a proper rewatch in AGES!

You've mentioned some of my favorite episodes, I would add John Quixote because it's just that insane.

Still one of my favorite shows <3

That’s another one of my favourites <3

And same! I used to watch my favourite shows again and again back in the 90’s and early 00’s, but there just never seems to be the time these days for some reason, so it’s probably been well over ten years since I last watched Farscape. Kind of sad to think it’s been so long when I was completely obsessed with this show at one point.

I think it's been about ten years for me as well, although I did watch a few episodes when I was trying to get my friend into it a couple of years ago.

I was so into Battlestar Galactica in 2009 that it kind of ruined all other sci-fi for me for a while, then I started my PhD and it's been hard to find the time for TV and rewatches since then.

I was pretty obsessed with Farscape too, to the point that I started picking up Claudia Black's accent and I sounded like a weird mix of American and cultivated Australian for a while.

Looking back over my Farscape entries, turns out I did last watch season 4 in 2011, but even back then it had been quite a while since I had seen seasons 1-3

To be honest I could never fully get into BSG, I watched the first two seasons I think it was, but it always felt a bit too grim and self-important... It was very well done for sure, but idk I could never really sit back and enjoy it the way that I did with Farscape. I did love Gauis’s character though, it felt like that actor was one of the few who brought a sense of humour to the show, and I always looked forward to watching his gradual mental unraveling. Plus Six appearing as a chip in his head was one of the relationships I cared about the most in that show (also liked I think his name was Helo and his relationship with a cyclon), and looking at that now I guess that must have been because of associations with Farscape maybe *g*

Heh yes, I picked this username out a looong time ago now, it’s just kind of stuck with me as my internet handle ever since. I use it on all online forums, so I can’t really imagine going by a different name online at this point *g*

A fantastic show, and one with one of the best villains of all time-Scorpius. I loved to hate him. Braca just loved him I think.

Scorpuis really was such a great character, and haha yes I loved the little almost love triangle with Scorpuis, Sikozu, and Braca that they set up towards the end of season 4 with Braca watching the two of them jealously *g*
