For someone who isn't normally crazy about comic book films or tv shows, I really enjoyed Daredevil!

The second episode was when I first fell in love with the show I think, I thought that all of the flashbacks to Matt's childhood with his father were very touching and effective. Both episodes flashing back to Matt and Fisk's childhods were among my favourites actually as I also particularly loved episode 8. That was around the time where I started racing through the episodes, I was pacing myself more at the beginning lol.

The friendship between Matt, Foggy, and Karen was so sweet, I especially loved episode ten with the flashbacks to Matt and Foggy in college together, as well as how much time the show spend on Foggy's reaction to Matt's secret and how betrayed he felt. Major aww to how they were both in tears by the end of the episode. Foggy and Karen's friendship was also very sweet, starting from episode two when he takes her drinking and tries to make her feel safer in Hell's Kitchen. It seemed like they were going for a romantic vibe there in the beginning actually, but I got the impression that Foggy dropped it after their "date" because he sensed that Karen was still into Matt? I hope there will be more of all three of them hanging out together as friends if a second season happens!

I also like Claire's character a lot, and how the show introduced her as wanting to help this masked men that she had already heard about being out there saving people, it was a shame that we hardly see any of her towards the end of the series

But, perhaps predictably, the character that I ended up loving the most was Wilson Fisk :sheepish: I found him fascinating with how lonely and tragic he seemed, while at the same time having his anger control issues and being pretty terrifying when he wanted to be! Everything about his relationships with Wesley and with Vanessa really touched me, I thought it was adorable how shy and awkward he seemed around Vanessa, how he struggled with making eye contact and spoke in such a halting way. I was dealing with a lot of conflicting emotions in the finale actually heh, on one hand I wanted to just cheer on Matt, Foggy, and Karen for taking out the bad guys and the corruption, but on the other I was really sad for Vanessa waiting in vain with her ring, I kept hoping that Fisk would find some way of still getting to her :/

And I also loved Fisk's scenes with Wesley. I thought that it was quite moving how much Wesley looked out for him and how loyal he was, it seemed like he really loved Fisk and cared about his happiness. I liked Wesley's character a lot actually, urgh I was super disappointed with his death. It didn't even make a lot of sense because when he first put the gun in the table my immediate response was that seems kind of risky, then I told myself that oh of course it must not be loaded, then turns out that he really did leave a loaded gun on the table in easy reach of Karen?!? Wesley just always seemed a LOT smarter than that to me? My heart when Fisk sees the body and holds his hand :( I was actually curious if there was any fic for those two, but Archive Of Our Own didn't seem to have all that much disappointingly...

My one nitpick is from episode two, and it's that I found it hard to understand why Matt's father would take the risk that he did in not throwing the fight, even when he seemed to know that the mobsters would very likely kill him for it and leave his recently-blinded son without a Dad?! The two of them seemed so close that I don't understand why he thought that leaving his son a large stash of cash would be preferable to actually having his father around. Although I guess there was that sense that he had very low self-esteem on how much he could actually do for his son, who was clearly well on his way to adjusting and was a lot more book-smart than his father, but even so it was really harsh to leave the kid on his own to stumble across his father's body in the middle of the night :( Then again I was also puzzled at Matt telling his father that we always get up again when we get knocked down. It seemed like he was encouraging his father not to throw the fight, as he had just overheard their conversation and knew that's what he was being pressured to do, but surely he should have understand the risk that his father would face from that kind of criminal element if he didn't follow their orders? The show did reference that later when he blamed himself for his fathers death because he wanted him to win, but I still thought it was odd when he surely knew what his father was going up against if he didn't throw the fight?

Those are my thoughts so far anyway, does anyone have any recs for music video's or fic from the show? :)
