:waves to new friends from the friending meme:

And after all of the demon Dean fic I've read, the trailer for the new season of Supernatural is getting me so excited!!!

I really want to watch, but I don't know if it would be worth trying to catch up on seasons 8 and 9 first, or just jumping straight into season 10... I haven't seen any SPN since season 7, I keep meaning to catch up when I have time, but now the summer hiatus is almost over and I am still ridiculously behind :(

I'm in the midst of watching season 1 of Homeland for the first time at the moment. After that I want to catch up on seasons 3-5 of The Good Wife and season 4 of Pretty Little Liars. I also want to have a rewatch of seasons 1-4 of Nikita, plus I want to check out some of the shows on amazon prime like Arrow and Orphan Black :needs more hours in the day:

There is never enough time for TV! So many excellent shows around :D

If I can voice my opinion I would reccoment wathcing season 9 (and 8) of SPN before staring season 10 since there is much lead up and foreshadowing. I do understand not wanting to wait though!

I haven't watch the promo. I've managed to stay spoiler free up to now I shall try to keep it up, but I'm excited to see where season 10 takes everyone :)

I have such a weakness for demon Dean lol :is hoping for a ton of fic: I guess that my excitement for season 10 could be my incentive to finally catch up on seasons 8 and 9 once and for all :P I have vague ideas of some of what happened those seasons just by reading reactions on my flist, but I would like to sit down and watch it properly if I ever find the time. I think that I'm going to really try now to commit to SPN once I've finished watching Homeland

Orphan Black is one of my favourite shows right now. Definitely check it out if you have the time. :-)

I love The Good Wife. The first 2 seasons were my fave, but Season 5 was excellent too.

I saw the first episode of Orphan Black a while back and liked it okay, but it didn't really grab me. I see so much praise for it though and, as the seasons seem to be fairly short ones thankfully, I've been interested in giving the rest of the season a watch. If I have time :P

And I've really enjoyed what I've seen of The Good Wife so far too, it's one of my favourite new shows that I've watched in a while. That's another show where I took a break to catch up on some other tv, and then just never get back around to finishing it. These 22/23 episode seasons in America are hard to find the time to catch up on!

For Orphan Black, I watched it from the start. I wasn't convinced by the trailers, but I saw some very positive reviews, so I went for it anyway. I liked the pilot, but it got more interesting as more characters were introduced, especially in Season 1. The beginning of Season 2 was a bit slow for my taste, but then it got more interesting again.

Yeah it sounds like a lot of my flist are really into it, so I would like to give season 1 a go definitely. It's just getting even harder keeping up with tv lol since I got amazon prime, I keep adding to my watchlist of possible new shows that I would like to someday see. Sooo many shows (Lost, Prison Break, Heroes, The Walking Dead, The Americans, Arrow, Mad Men, Luther, Sherlock etc etc etc), at the same time as still having a lot of existing DVDs that I need to catch up on or would like to rewatch sometime *g*

I've seen 4 eps of season 8 and no further, so nearly the same as you? Intend to watch the rest on DVD at my own pace, as the dvds are so much better quality (I usually don't notice the quality differing too much, but with the dark colours in SPN, it's so much more noticeable.)

I find it hard to keep with the episodes every week, so it always seems like the better option is to wait and catch up with the DVDs, but then it's hard finding the time for that as well! I should probably plan my time better and use hiatus to catch up with existing shows, instead of picking up new ones like Homeland :P

The reviews seem to be really mixed too, some people seem to have really loved season 8 and saw it as a return to form after seasons 6 and 7, whereas others on my flist thought that the characterisation was slipping backwards, so I'm interested in how I personally will find seasons 8 and 9

Yeah, I go through weird phases with my tv viewings as well. I'm particularly off/on with my viewings during uni semester. Hard to stay on track sometimes.

I personally don't bother reading reviews. I prefer to make my own judgement going in, and sometimes reading reviews can have too much influence on how I watch things. Hope you enjoy, in any case. :)

Hi!

About SPN, I didn`t watch all of season 8&9, some episodes/storylines made me want to throw something at my tv. And since I love my tv, I decided to quite watching inbetween, or played *hit fast foreward* while watching an episode. But I kept reading about it, so I know what`s been going on.

I`m really excited about season 10, and DemonDean. But I try not to get too excited (color me a glas half empty type of girl, but they managed to screw things up one time too many already, in my book).
Actually, it has been some time since I`ve been looking foreward to the new season of SPN as much as I do now.

btw, I watch way too much tv shows also, you`re not alone with needing more hours a day to keep up with everything

Hey :) I'm spoiled for some of what happens, like Sam not searching for Dean which I'm kind of iffy on characterisation-wise, but I would like to see how it all plays out for myself

And yeah I've read so many fics with demon Dean that I'm super-excited to see what the show does to meet my craving with that lol. Even if the show doesn't handle it how we hope, it should still lead to some amazing material for music videos at least. And of course more fan fic :D

And it's good to know I'm not the only one! It seems like I find more and more shows that I want to watch every year, so I'm never gonna get caught up. Since getting amazon prime they have so many interesting shows to stream as well, and I keep thinking that I should at least get around to watching one or two new shows to get my moneysworth from paying for prime, but then I have sooo many DVDs at home as well that I still haven't got around to watching

OH, I think it's so cool that you stopped watching SPN after Season 7 because I did the same. I found Season 7 terrible and then didn't have any desire to go on watching anymore...

So I wouldn't even recommend it, but Arrow... Arrow is golden. It's so perfect and one of my very favourite shows ever :)

Lol I did find the second half a bit uninspired from what I remember, I was annoyed that they didn't follow up more on everything that was set up early on with Sam's hallucinations and Dean's presence grounding him. I was hoping for that to be more of a thing, instead of it being more or less dropped until sweeps big event episode. And then in the second half to the season it didn't seem like the main arc involved Sam and Dean much at all? But then people consider season 8 a return to form, others seem to have hated it, so we'll see I suppose *g*

I definitely want to try and give Arrow a shot at some point as well! It's just finding the time to watch 22 40 minute episodes when I already have a lot of tv to keep up with or catch up on, but it's definitely on my watch list *g*

You should definitely watch Orphan Black! It's SO good. It grabbed me right away, but it definitely picks up a lot after the third episode. And I must warn you season 1 has so many evil cliffhangers lol. IDK about season 2 because I haven't started yet, but season 1 was evil. :P

It's definitely on my to-watch list on amazon prime :) Near the top actually cause lol having just ten episodes to watch seems so much more do-able than the 22/23 episode seasons that I otherwise need to catch up on, or am thinking of checking out

Hi new friend! I'm looking forward to getting to know you better :)

I totally feel you on SPN. I gave up watching in season seven as well though I really didn't want to, but it just became too complicated for me and was more of a chore than something I enjoyed doing. I've heard that it's since got a lot better and I really want to catch up but I simply don't have the time (maybe during Christmas vacation??) I miss Sam and Dean with a passion though.

You should definitely watch Orphan Black. That show is AMAZING.

Thank you :)

I do see gifs of SPN still on tumblr (I've relogged some of them for scenes that I never actually watched lol) and it makes me want to catch up, it's always just been finding the time, but yeah I do miss the Sam and Dean scenes. It seems like they've had a lot of hugs and really nice moments in these past two seasons

I watched, I think, 4 episodes of SPN season 8 once I caught up to it and bought the DVDs in... Winter/Spring? I wanted to continue but alas, my TV and DVD watching got the best of me and so I didn't. I need to keep catching up.

I got this thing where I screencap everything I watch on DVD now for the possibility of icons later.

Which I... never do. But I got a tons of stuff for my PS CS3 so I can do better icons now *laughs*

Back to SPN, I guess it threw me that Sam didn't go look for Dean and he's now pining for this girl almost like he couldn't forget Jessica in season 1... I don't know...

I thought the first trailer to season 10 looked a little cheesy for some reason. Need to watch it again, I guess. I can't wait to see what they do with the whole demon!Dean though. Hopefully not just strippers and food... Haha!!

How did you find those episodes? And yeah I was aggravated when I heard the comments on my flist on how Sam was being written as not looking for Dean, I'm never here for Sam hate :(

And lol it does a little bit, but I'm used to that kind of cheesy humour from SPN and the crack about Dean reading porn did make me laugh :P I'm super-excited for what they could do with a demonic Dean, plus all the angst on how Sam is going to bring him back when he's not actually possessed by anything

Oh, sorry. I didn't see this notice in my emails until I logged on lj. Oops.

Dean's bff with a vamp he met and fought along with while in Purgatory. That was pretty weird. Sam's just, oh, you're back, ok. I didn't look for you. Why would I? Thousands of flashbacks of that girl he was with...

Kinda weird, to be honest. Need to watch more to understand better, I guess.

It was a while back, too.

I have only watched 2 eps of SPN in my life. I really do mean to get into it at some point, but now that I've waited this long, I kind of want to wait till it's over and see if fans found it satisfying. I've been burned, you know (Thanks, Smallville and HIMYM).

I am endlessly tempted by both Arrow and Orphan Black, too! But a bit afraid to jump in (being still burned and all).

A lot of fans have dropped out and feel that SPN lost its way, but at the same way I don't think that it's ever had any massive betrayals of the fans or anything, if anything the writers are very aware of the fandom and perhaps cater to them a little too much at times! It seemed more like some viewers just got tired of it after a while because the focus on such a limited cast means that issues between Sam and Dean do tend to get repeated a lot over the years...

I think it's worth jumping into the first five seasons at least, they're kind of their own self-contained five year arc before the show runners change hands, and most fans still speak positively of those seasons. It's seasons 6 and 7 where the mixed views first started coming in
