Vessel left me hoping for Lana going dark and them teaming up together (hey, a girl can dream *g*), but even the love/hate we had all too briefly in Wrath was still fun to watch. The choice the writers made for a cold and loveless marriage was such a strangely joyless way of handling them compared to how it could have been. I almost fell over in shock when season 7 remembered that an attraction existed there because, post-Hydro, you wouldn't have thought there was zip between Lexana except for Lana's wanting to protect Clark and taking one for the team

I loved that scene from Reckoning part 2 as well (your #18) and I'm glad you put it in, I thought that line was important.

I'll always associate kickboxing with L/L.

I really loved the Reckonning first kiss! It got kind of overlooked later on, especially after moments like the Fragile kiss, but I'll always have fond memories of Reckonning kiss as well. Lana might have broken off, but I thought Michael played Lex's feelings for Lana really sweetly in that scene and, as the first moment where things turned properly romantic for them in season 5, it felt pretty huge at the time

If you exclude Onyx, it's their real first kiss, although a drunken first is not all that sexy. lol She shouldn't have been that surprised. She's known he's carried at torch since Onyx at least w/ major clues during Lockdown. Still, their initial romantic relationship was a beautiful thing to watch unveiled. :) My L/Ler heart at the time thought it was just a dream come true!

Onyx I tend to overlook because it wasn't the complete version of Lex *g* And of course there was Clark imagining them kiss in Splinter, and the kisses in Lexmas. But Reckonning was the first kiss with them both in their right minds :)

God I loved the Lexana. It made her less perfect and him more human. They could've been the greatest pairing ever on that show, right up there with Ma and Pa Kent but the writers had to go and screw it all up cause it was unbelieveable for them to get over their Clark-lust. *eyeroll*

I still like to believe it was Lionel, not Lex who pulled the fake-baby scam.

It's funny cause I really think that's how Michael was playing it too. In Static it can perhaps be explained as him not knowing about the faked pregnancy/the writers not having planned it at that time. But then in Phanom he played the What are you talking about Lana so sincerely that I didn't know what to think. I remember a lot of people expected the faked pregnancy to be down to Lionel after that scene (and it's not like Lionel didn't have reason to want Lana to marry Lex so that she could "protect Clark"), but then they never really went anywhere with it

Actually I heard/watched an event he did at a con right after the end of season 7 and he said that he hadn't know that Lex was responsible for the fake baby at the time they shot that scene so that was how he played it and it wasn't until mid-season 7 that they (the writers) even told him Lex had done it.

I could've seen Lionel doing it not just to protect Clark but also to ensure his son could have the thing he loved & wanted most (love & a life with Lana) . In his effed up way Lionel did love Lex, just not conventionally. That would've been a much better storyline IMHO than a space rocks made him do it.

Sorry to interrupt but I wanted to add my vote that I too thought the baby was faked by Lionel.

Although, the romantic in me just wants to believe it was real and the writers changed their minds halfway 'cause they thought it'd be more dramatic if it was faked and what better way for Lana to stop loving Lex then feel violated in the most basic way. *twitch* Sorry, I'm bitter about that. I'd gladly live in my own little world where the miscarriage actually took place sans funny hormone business and that it was a normal albeit tragic event in a couple's life.

I think it was planned as real earlier on. I've said this before but, if you look at Lana's white dress in crimson, it looks deliberately made to hide a baby bump. Whereas several episodes later in Promise the show is suddenly making a point of fitting her into a tight corset, as the time time as they're looking at an ultrasound of a somewhat developed baby, so the audience will start figuring out that something isn't right.

I suspect somewhere between those episodes was when they decided to change the pregnancy plans, amd my guess is a big factor in that was in order to make Clana look less self-involved for planning on running off together when Lana was pregnant with Lex's child. That all then gets forgetten when it's revealed the pregnancy was never real, and the show can more easily start pushing Clana without the baby factor to spoil things

*nods* Yep, yep, maternity tops started popping up. If you do the math, assuming she became pregnant on Halloween then by Promise she should have been at least twenty weeks and there's no way any pregnant woman fits into a corset nearing the third trimester.

Ugh, you're right, since the baby was fake, her adultery was "understandable" or hell even "acceptable". It never was in my eyes. Hated her clinging to her ex. Knew something wasn't right when she didn't immediately say YES to his proposal. Who-the-f thinks about it unless they are doubting their love?
