What the fuck?!?
Allison Mack to Leave 'Smallville'
'Smallville' starlet moving on
LOS ANGELES -- The fate of The WB's "Smallville" is still unknown with
the new CW network in the works, but one "Smallville" star definitely won't be
back on your television sets next season.
For the past 5 years, Allison Mack played girl reporter Chloe Sullivan on the Alfred Gough and Miles Millar produced drama, but this year will be her last.
Executive producer Al Gough says, "This year has been about growth for Clark Kent, and part of that growth involves loss. This year he lost his father, but he will also lose a friend. Unfortunately, this means saying goodbye to Allison [Mack], who has been absolutely wonderful for our show in these past few years. But we have Lois Lane now, we're moving towards Metropolis, and there is no longer a place for [Chloe] in Clark's destiny or in the story we're trying to tell."
Allison Mack, a former child actress, already has a few new projects in
the pipeline. She will soon be heard as one of the voices in the animated
film "The Ant Bully" and hopes to announce another feature film project this
summer.
"It's strange, 'Smallville' has been part of my life for a very long time and I hate to leave it, but this also affords me the opportunity to really challenge myself as an actress and pursue other roles," says Mack. "I'll miss all the wonderful friends I've made on the 'Smallville' set, of course, but I think this is going to be a very good time for me. I'm excited."
