I don't have either one of them friended, but I'd heard about both, and they seemed to be very well-loved in the fandom. After reading a couple of posts last night, I was, literally, in tears b/c my oldest brother died in a car accident, several years ago. We waited up all night in the ICU. He died in the morning. The story brought back all those memories. :(

Then when I woke up this morning...wow. Everything had changed. *Boggles* I feel like I have mental whiplash.

I only know what I've read on my f-list, but I consider the sources I've seen to be *very* reliable, and the only explanation for all this that makes sense is a scam. (Those pictures are one good reason why; another is that wish list.) I can't imagine anyone in her situation, in the hospital, sending out a call for lip gloss and Disney stuff.

Either way it turns out, this is a really sad story. :(

I was hoping someone would say something about it so I could talk. I was about to send in a nice post explaining both side's positions when I noticed that herohunter's journal was deleted. If this is a scam, then I'm pissed and I didn't even know them well! I mean, I think everyone lies just a little on lj, whether it be their exact location or past pets or weight, but to do all that just to get gifts? wtf? I mean, if I was scamming someone, I'd put up a paypal account. They were around for a while, the backstories were good, she could have made a killing if she was smart. I would have gone all 007 on that shit, switching computers and insisting that I didn't want people seeing me because I had a bad past with a stalker. I mean, come on! But, I am too lazy to cook up that crap and I don't see the point in doing something that will make everyone hate me and my chances of reincarnation down to a choice of cockroach or tree moss.

I've seen that it hasn't been deleted yet, but it didn't look active either? No one ever used their greatjournal much, so I wouldn't have expected the deletion of that to be a priority
