Does anyone else found the interviews with the writers and actors from Hex really smug? It's always comments along the line of how they're more intelligent than Buffy, they're more mature than Buffy, Buffy was aimed at a young audience while they appeal to all ages etc.
Grr!
I've never watched Hex, and I've no plans too, just the interviews with them in Dreamwatch annoy me.

Date: 2005-10-28 11:19 pm (UTC)I tried to watch that godawful show (Hex) and it made me want to puke. Awful showmaking all around, crap acting, crap photography, crap writing and characters who are so off-putting I wanted them all dead real fast. The only good thing is Colin Salmon and he's always good, he'd be good even in a Stargate episode.
Hex is a petty-minded, spectacularly uninspired piece of third rate shit. More mature than Buffy? Maturity requires a ton less pretty minded nonsense than Hex has. More intelligent than Buffy? Hex gets one good idea and then messes it up totally by treating it and everything else with a subhuman intelligence.
Hex is bargain basement no-class Buffy-genre-ripoff with pretensions.
Aimed at all ages? Like aimed at people who are so old they died a thousand years ago and so can't tell if a show is total shite? Buffy was aimed at an adult audience but sneaked by through pretending to be teen fare. Hex is aimed at no-taste morons of all ages.

Date: 2005-10-29 12:05 am (UTC)It can't hold a candle to Buffy though in terms of plot, dialogue, underlying themes etc
The stuff they say in interviews is just rubbish! They've obviously never watched Buffy, and have just been told that they have to market their show as 'the new and improved and more adult (sooo not!) Buffy' which is kind of sad.
