I am loving the greater depth given to Santanico this season, and Carlos's character has also become a favourite after not making much of an impression on me in season 1, but I guess I miss how the Gecko brothers grounded the show for me last year when they were coming across the vampires at the same time that we were, and I'm just not feeling the same connection to this season since it's gone all in with the vampires. I'm still enjoying the brother moments, but something is missing for me there as well even :/ Maybe watching it weekly is another reason why I'm struggling with it though, I binge-watched the first season and that can make a difference in how invested you get I suppose
And my immediate response to that would be that he wouldn't have given it to Clara because he knows that living on forever isn't really a blessing at all, but yeah that still leaves the question of why he would chose to make Ashildr immortal, then fly off and leave her to it
