David Duchovny & Gillian Anderson Begin Shooting 'X-Files' Reboot in Vancouver!

And there are TONS more pics at the link :D :D :D I really need to get started on a rewatch soon, I think I keep putting it off because rewatching the entire series seems so daunting though lol. What are the single favourite seasons that people would most recommend for rewatch? At the moment I'm thinking of going with season 3, 4, 5, and 6?

I don't know how many seasons I've seen. Something like 6 or 7, I guess?

They've changed, but not much, I think. Or maybe I just get this impression because I see pics of them from time to time, even though I don't watch their current shows.

I haven't seen all of the seasons either! I'm pretty behind on most of seasons 7, 8 and 9, so I guess that maybe it should be my priority to catch up with them, rather than re-watch the favourite seasons that I've seen more of? Idk lol

And no, they don't really look that different, if anything they look younger to me here than they did during the I Want To Believe movie from 2008...

That's a lot of seasons. I would totally shy away from re-watching ALL of them too. I mean, I did some rewatches of shows I used to love but usually they were 3 to 5 seasons long... but I hope you'll have fun whatever you decide to rewatch :D

The earlier seasons were really long too, with 24 episodes for each year, I'm pretty sure that season 3 was 25 episodes o_0

OMG THOSE PICTURES BE STILL MY HEART!!!

I actually started a rewatch a couple weeks ago. It seriously feels like Mt. Everest, so I'm skipping the lame episodes ("Jersey Devil," anyone?). I want to try to do all the seasons. I'm using these guides to help choose eps to skip:

My feelings are so mixed. I'm still very bitter about X-Files...but I love Gillian on Hannibal SO MUCH. Just happy to see her on my tv again no matter what, she was my hero in high school.

Yeah I'm excited too, for some reason I haven't seen many of Gillian's other projects except for Hannibal (and none of David's), I really need to check out The Fall sometime

I'm rewatching at the moment too - I'm up to season 6! So all of them!

I take it you're enjoying them all? :D I was mostly going to skip over seasons 1 and 2 because I've seen seasons 1-3 so much more than the later seasons that it seemed to make sense to just rewatch 4-6, but then I wanted to included season 3 in my rewatch because there are so many episodes I love from that year, so maybe I should just add season 2 to that as well lol as that does have Scully's abduction arc which I love

I'm enjoying them all equally. There are episodes in each season that I don't pay much attention to, and then ones I love in each as well. So it's pretty even stevens.

Tbh I don't really care much about the overall arc. I love the monster of the week episodes best!

I don't care about the mytharc later on, but I did like those episodes dealing with it in seasons 2 and 3, otherwise the MotW episodes are definitely my favs

ETA Oh and the season 4 and 5 mytharc episodes with Scully's cancer

I don't why I'm so excited about this. I rage-quit at some point in S7. I also bought the complete set as soon as they announced it (which I forgot to do with Twin Peaks and now the cost of the complete sets are pretty high) so I'll be doing a rewatch, too.

Yeah I never finished watching the series either, season 7 was about the time I fell behind as well, but I'm still very excited to see what they'll do with the reboot as everyone involved seems recharged and ready to go

So are you going to do one episode a day, like Fox suggested?

Heh probably not tbh, I'm more of a binge-watcher, I'm not sure I would be able to limit myself to just one episode a day once I started watching a season. At the moment I'm mostly torn on whether to do a full rewatch, or just pick out fav/classic episodes and skip the clunkers. That probably would be the more fun option, but it always feels a little bit like cheating if I don't watch a season in full and really immense myself in it :P

I'm in the middle of season two right now. I'm doing a complete rewatch with my dad, but since we're only watching two episodes a week, we're not going to be anywhere near done by the time the new season starts. I might have to devise a short refresher mini-series toward the end for him. He was a devoted weekly watcher back in the day but hasn't seen an episode since it ended. He doesn't remember a thing so it's almost like getting to see it brand-new again. And he loves every episode ("but they're all good!"). And he tells me to pipe down when I get too critical. It's a refreshing change from the current spoiler hysteria in the fandom.

I love your icon. Who here is still making icons? I need season ten icons like yesterday.

Aww that sounds fun, I need a newbie viewer to watch with *g* And it seems like icons on LJ are few and far between lately sadly, I wish that I could find more icons of David and Gillians recent photo shoots and fooling around on set together etc, but fandom seems to be all about gifs these days, the icon craze seems to have really died down :/

Yeah, watching with my dad has been a lot of fun.
