Pick any character from a fandom of mine and I'll answer the following questions:

1. What is your opinion of this character? If you like, explain why you like him/her.
2. Is he/she important to the general plot?
3. Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
4. How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
5. Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)
6. Is there anything about the character you would change?
7. If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how would you see yourself interacting with him/her? Would you get along well? Fall in love with him/her? Dislike? Have a friendly rivalry?
8. Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?
9. Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about this character (if you dislike) to someone new to fandom?

Fandoms to choose from: Buffy, Breaking Bad, Dawson's Creek, Dollhouse, Doctor Who, Farscape, Gilmore Girls, Gossip Girl, Hannibal, Nip/Tuck, Oz, Pretty Little Liars, Queer As Folk, Smallville, Supernatural, The Good Wife, Vampire Diaries, Veronica Mars

1. I really like her obviously! Buffy is my favourite character from one of my favourite shows

2. Umm yeah, I'd say that she's pretty important to the plot lol, the show was always at its best when Buffy's emotional life was front and centre

3. Honestly I don't really relate to Buffy much of the time, we're pretty different, but Sarah (and Joss's writing of course) always got me gripped emotinally by her pain. The most I related to Buffy was probably in season 6 when she's floundering so much after finishing higher education and not knowing what to do next

4. Buffy was my first fandom and I had some amazing discussions with people, so I definitely like the fandom a lot!

5. I shipped Buffy with Spike for my canon ship, and I also enjoy the subtext between Buffy and Faith in season 3

6. Hmm it's hard to say, I guess that I was always kind of sad that she never got to finish college thanks to Giles forcing her into becoming an adult before her time and needing to make money *now*, I wish that Giles would have been more supportive and realised that it was better in the long-run to help Buffy and Dawn out financially until she got her degree

7. Buffy had a thing for the underdogs and befriended Xander and Willow, so hopefully she would have been friendly with me too :P

8. Definitely!

9. And again yes, I think that Buffy is such an awesome example of an heroic female character who was still allowed to be girly and silly at times, she wasn't just some generic warrior, she could also care about clothes and if her hips were drawn too wide!

1. I really like her! I know that the mystery with her character wasn't particularly popular at first, but I was really intrigued by her from the beginning, I loved the idea of making the mystery behind the different versions of her that we meet the centrepiece of series 7. I love how Jenna plays her as feisty and not afraid to call the Doctor out, but also with a real soft spot for children. And I like how Clara is shown to often be very afraid in episodes like Cold War, Hide and Deep Breath, but she pushes through her fear, I find that much easier to relate too lol than companions who just dive into everything without any fear. Also I love her sense of adventure and the pure joy she takes in travelling with the Doctor and getting to 'see wonders'

2. Yes, the Impossible Girl arc was very important to series 7. She probably hasn't had such a major role in series 8, but her role of learning to accept the new Doctor, questioning his actions, and being the only person that he will hug/hold hands with, has been kind of essential in humanising the Twelfth Doctor!

3. I don't really relate to Clara on a personal level tbh, we're pretty different!

4. Lol well Doctor Who fandom can be kind of a mixed bag as a lot of the fans are so critical and seem to tear everything apart, and that's not really my thing. Fortunately the fandom is big enough that there are plenty of like-minded fans that you can squee with!

5. I'm very into the friendship between the Doctor and Clara, but I don't really ship her with anyone, the Danny/Clara ship never did a lot for me because it seemed so rushed. In their first couple of episodes we saw nothing but misunderstandings and awkwardness between them, and then suddenly Clara was declaring her love for him?

6. Eh I'm not sure that I can think of anything particularly glaring that stands out

7. We would hopefully get along okay, it's hard to say!

8. Yes, she's one of my favourite DW companions

9. I would definitely hype her up, her first appearance as a Dalek was such a cool intro!

1. It's hard to say that I like him exactly lol, but he's definitely one of Farscapes most memorable and fascinating characters, I always enjoy his screen time

2. He's definitely very important to the plot, from his first intro his determination to get the wormhole info out of Crichton's head is a driving force in the show right up to the very end

3. I think it's safe to say that no I don't relate to Scorpius :P I do find myself gripped by him emotionally though after we saw his backstory of how alone he was from the beginning, and how he has to fight through incredible odds to get to where he did.

4. Unfortunately the fandom isn't particularly active, but what fans there are I generally always have fun speaking with

5. Well his major relationship is obviously with John, and I'm definitely *very* invested in that and intrigued by all the different layers that the writers and actors introduce. I also enjoyed the loyalty between Scorpuis and Braca, and the first canon romantic ship with Sikozu was also a ship that I grew to care a lot about

6. Not the character exactly, but I was disappointed in how the miniseries ended things with Scorpuis and Sikozu, I would like to change the ending there definitely

7. Well we wouldn't be falling in love or having a close friendship, let's put it that way :P

8. Not an all time favourite, but definitely one of the best villains ever

9. I would hype him up for sure, for me Farscape only starts getting really good after Scorpuis makes his first appearance and starts slowly driving the main character mad, it's hard to beat drama like that!

1. I really like Spencer, funnily enough she made the least impression on me of the main four in the beginning, but then the actress just won me over completely just a few episodes in. I love her assertive attitude and how driven she is in uncovering A, plus she just has great comedic timing when it comes to delivering some of those one-liners *g*

2. Definitely important to the main plot, they would be lost without Spencer!

3. I don't relate to her much at all. I'm really not the type-A sort :P But the actress always makes me feel Spencer's emotions definitely

4. I'm not really involved in the fandom, it seems to be more of a tumblr thing? I have read a lot of fun A theories though which I always enjoy considering

5. I'm intrigued by Spencer's sisterly rivalry with Melissa, I also loved her rivalry with Mona. For romantic ships I was a little bit into Spencer and Wren, but mainly for shallow reasons *g*

6. I wish that she would break up with Toby, quite honestly I think that she could do way better!

7. My immediate response was that we don't have enough in common to be friends, but then I suppose that it works for the four liars that they're all closely bonded despite being very different people, so maybe we would be friends?

8. She's definitely one of my favourite PLL characters

9. I would hype her as a reason for checking out the show

Ellen or Jo (or both, lol) from Supernatural.

Date: 2015-03-30 12:49 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] frelling-tralk.livejournal.com
1. I liked Ellen from the first, but Jo took a little longer to grow on me. I guess I always felt like the writing didn't really know what to do with her, it was odd how one minute she seemed like a 17 year old girl arguing with her mother about how she wants to live her life, and the next they wanted to present her as someone who was a match for Dean and a fully grown adult. (I know that the actress was in her early 20's,but the portrayal of Jo never felt that way when we saw her so much through the lens of the mother/daughter relationship)

2. Eh not really early on, they just kind of popped up occasionally, although certainly they did get an important and memorable exit.

3. I don't really relate to Ellen, I guess that I can relate to Jo in terms of her crushing on Dean? :P But honestly I'm not much like Jo either as I'm not really the hunter type, Jo in No Exit was waay braver than I could ever hope to be!

4. Supernatural fandom is a very mixed bag for me lol, but parts of it can be fun, and I definitely appreciate how much fanfic and artworks get produced

5. I couldn't really picture Dean with someone so young in the second season, but by the fifth season I thought they really worked and could have been cute together. I wasn't a big fan of the Bobby/Ellen ship though, frankly I thought that she could have done a lot better. I could have shipped her with John though!

6. Definitely, I would have given them more of a chance to win over the audience, it seemed like they got written out really fast. Jo only got one full episode (No Exit), otherwise it was mostly cameo appearances before she got written out in the evil Sam episode. Still at least their season 5 reappearances were written a lot more respectfully, and really showed what they could have added to SPN if the writers weren't so determined to write them out because of a few hostile voices

Also it would have been cool to make Ellen a hunter, if John, Bobby, and other older men could get actively involved in the hunting world, I don't see why Ellen couldn't

7. I think I would get on better with Ellen than with Jo for some weird reason!

8. I like both characters yes, I wish we could have seen a bit more of them over the years as recurring hunters, instead of waiting until season 5, and then killing them off so fast. SPN needs more recurring hunter characters

9. I dunno how much I would hype them in season 2, but definitely their final exit in Abandon All Hope deserves some hype

I'll go with Adelle :)

From: [identity profile] frelling-tralk.livejournal.com
1. I liked Adelle a lot, she and Topher were my two favourite characters from Dollhouse

2. Yes, Adelle is the main reason that Caroline gets recruited in the first place, and she's also a major part of the rebelling against Rossum and taking the Dollhouse down

3. Well we're both British? But other than that, not really :P

4. The fandom never seemed that big to me sadly, although what I was exposed to seemed cool enough, I just wish there were more of us

5. I could have shipped Adelle with Dominic definitely, I was disappointed that the show didn't do more with that. I was also very invested in the sort of mother/son relationship that Adelle had with Topher

6. Hmm I can't think of anything?

7. I don't think we would have a lot in common, so we probably wouldn't be hanging out much :P

8. Yes definitely, she was one of my favourite parts of the show

9. Again yes, I would hype her up as another one of Joss's really interesting and complex female characters, and played by an actress who brought a lot to the role,

1. I'm definitely a big fan of Stefan, he's probably my favourite character after Caroline. I like how hard he struggles again his vampire nature to still be a good person

2. And yes, along with Elena and Damon, he's always been a driving force in the main plots from each season

3. I don't relate to him hugely, but I do definitely feel for him emotionally, particularly in his ripper arc when he was struggling to control his bloodlust

4. I like what's left of the fandom, although it does seem to be dwindling lately and a lot of my friends have quit watching!

5. I ship Stefan with Elena as my main OTP from TvD, and lately I've been enjoying Stefan/Caroline as well. I'm also very into the brotherly relationship between Stefan and his brother

6. Not really I don't think, although it might be interesting to see what Stefan would be like as a human again if he took the cure?

7. I think we would get along pretty well, Stefan seems like a good guy!

8. He's one of my favourite TvD characters, so yes

9. I guess that I would hype him up, Stefan seems like a good reason to watch the show to me!

From: [identity profile] frelling-tralk.livejournal.com
1. I really like Chloe, I enjoy how snarky and witty she is, but also brave and determined and a great friend

2. She becomes pretty essential to Clark's life in season 5 and onwards after she discovers the secret and becomes the main person working with him

3. I don't personally relate to her, Chloe is a lot smarter and more driven than me!

4. I had a lot of messiness in SV fandom, but also made a lot of great friends, so I'd say that it was a positive experience overall :)

5. I shipped Chloe mainly with Clark. I also grew to love the ship with Davis in season 8, and by the time of seasons 9 and 10 I was satisfied with Chloe/Oliver endgame

6. Probably I would change seasons 2 and 9 around for Chloe, I felt like she was treated unfairly in both seasons in service of other characters. Chloe was written as too mopey and lovelorn in season 2, that was a part of her character in season 1 sure, but season 2 made it feel like that was all that she was most of the time...And in season 9 she became a real shut-in and lost her closeness with Clark, and again that didn't feel very organic to her character and how close she and Clark had become by then

7. I think we could hang out, yes

8. She's one of my favorites definitely

9. I would hype her up, I think she's a hugely important part of what made Smallville a show worth watchig

I'll go with Paris :)

1. I really liked her, at the beginning she seemed a bit much, but the actress brought so much to it that I don't see how anyone wouldn't fall in love with her *g*

2. Eh she's not really essential to the plot I guess, her rivalry with Rory did lead to some interesting character moments for Rory, but mostly she was pretty firrmly a supporting character

3. I don't relate to her hugely, but the flop parts of her personality where she's insecure and worrying about Rory overshadowing her/not knowing how to act when she gets asked on a date, those are probably not a million miles away from me :P

4. I would love to get involved in the fandom, but I got caught up the show late at a time when there was no longer much discussion. Although I am a bit out of step with the popular ships, being that I liked Lorelai/Christopher and Rory/Logan, so I probably wouldn't have got on with the majority of fandom anyway :P

5. I really liked Paris with Doyle, I thought they made for a fun pairing, I'm glad that the show ended with them still together as I thought that they really worked

6. I guess I wish that I wish that she would be a little less quick to react to perceived slights, she could be quite over-sensitive

7. No, I think that Paris would have been pretty impatient with me and we wouldn't have got on at all

8. She's definitely one of my favourite reasons to watch GG, the college seasons especially wouldn't have been the same without her

9. I would hype her up, GG had so many memorable female characters, and Paris was up there with the best of them

1. I really love him, he's got such a sweet puppy dog vulnerability about him *g*

2. Yes, he's pretty essential to the plot at the moment as the show basically revolves around his and Hannibal's relationship, so much so that I wonder how they are going to continue it after season 3 and the Red Dragon storyline leads to Will's exit in the book canon

3. Actually I kind of do relate to him, his awkwardness around other people is very me :P

4. Fandom seems to be more of a tumblr thing unfortunately, so mostly it kind of passes me by sadly. I would love to be more involved, but there's not that much fandom happening on LJ, and I find it hard to track fic and fan video's on tumblr when they don't have any organised communities for them like they would back in LJ's heyday

5. I actually didn''t start shipping Hannibal and Will until the second season, the first season 1 so horrified me with Hannibal messing with Will's brain :( And I guess the second season wasn't a lot better in that respect lol with the flashbacks to the ear being forcibly ingested, but I did get really drawn into their dynamic that year, so much so that I was really saddened by their parting in the finale

And I'm not particularly into Will and Alana's relationship, although they were briefly cute together in season 1, but I am excited for the intro of Molly and hopefully a new ship

6. I can't think of anything, other than I guess I hope that they change canon around a little bit so that Will can remain involved in the show? It wouldn't be the same for me without him

7. I think we would get along really well, we could bond over our love of dogs

8. Probably not all-time fav, but I do really like him

9. I would definitely hype him up, I thought the arc of Hannibal playing with his emotions in season 1 and scheming to drive him crazy was really well-done, I wanted to cry at the seizure scene when Will is begging, "Please don't lie to me". And then of course playing Hannibal at his own game in season 2

1. Hmm I liked Dawn a lot in season 5, I thought that her intro was handled really well. I wasn't such a big fan in season 6 when she was used more as just another burden to Buffy and didn't seem to want to help around the house at all, the writing of her as a 15/16 year old shouldn't have made her so unequal to Buffy and impossible for her to even carry out the garbage to help out. By season 7 I was liking Dawn more again though, she seemed to mature that year

2. Her entire existence is obviously a very big part of the plot of season 5. By season 6 and 7 her role is less essential however, she mostly seems to be there for her relationship to other characters like Buffy, although she does get the occasional episode spotlighting her

3. I don't really relate to Dawn no, by the time of her intro I was watching more from the perspective of the older scoobies

4. Buffy was my first fandom, and you never forget your first *g*

5. Eh not really, Dawn was too young to ship romantically with the rest of the cast. I was very invested in Buffy and Dawn's sisterly relationship though, and I also liked her friendship with Spike and was disappointed that got dropped in season 7

6. I would probably change her age and introduce her as a 12 year old in season 5, it didn't work to make her 14 when the writers clearly always envisioned her as a little girl next to Buffy and the gang, even though she was actually a teenager and not that far off Buffy's age in the first season. I would also keep her supportive to Buffy in season 6 as she was in Aferlife when she was taking care of her and understanding how traumatised her sister was, I hated how whiny and demanding of Buffy's time they wrote her as for the rest of the season.

7. Maybe by season 7 we could have been friendly, I don't really see us having much in common before then though

8. She's not one of my favourite characters, but I like her more than many viewers seem too, and I definitely appreciate what the Buffy and Dawn sibling relationship brought to the show

9. Honestly I wouldn't no, the little sister in a show is kind of a hard sell to convince people that this is a character/show worth watching? Maybe I would hype up the plot that she is involved in for season 5 though, and how well it all comes together

1. Honestly I don't have a ton of opinions on Crowley, he makes me laugh sometimes, but I'm not hugely attached to his character

2. He's fairly important to the plot in terms of being one of the main antagonists for Sam and Dean, being the King Of Hell kind of does make him pretty important in that respect!

3. Not really, no

4. SPN fandom is generally a lot of fun, I especially appreciate the talent of people that write fic or vid in this fandom

5. I've never shipped Crowley with anyone I don't think, although he does have the occasional moment with Dean or Castiel where I think maybe :P

6. I can't really think of anything that I would change about Crowley

7. We wouldn't get on at all, he's way too snarky and evil for me :P

1. Yes, I love Sam :)

2. Sam and Dean are probably equally important to the main plot, so yes

3. I relate to him being the studious and quieter brother who likes reading, messing around with computers, and other geekier pursuits that his brother will mock him for *g* I also emphasise with him wanting independence from his family, and the frustration at being seen as selfish and loving his brother less just because he wants to be his own man

4. I'm not hugely involved in SPN fandom these days, but I do appreciate how active it is in terms of fic and meta

5. My main "ship" for Sam is the brotherly one with Dean, I can't say that I've ever been that attached to any other relationships for him. Dean seems to get a lot more of those pairings (Dean/Castiel, Dean/Jo) that clicked with the audience, Sam really hasn't had that as much :(

6. I would change the writing of seasons 4 and 8 to make Sam's actions more understandable. In season 4 especially I would emphasis Sam's love for his brother a lot more, and his reasons for wanting revenge on Lilith being because of how torn up and lost he was at Dean going to Hell

7. We would get along well for sure, I would be flirting with him too if I thought that I was in with half a chance :P

8. Yes, I love Sammy <3

9. I guess that I would hype him up sure, in my mind there isn't a lot of point in watching SPN if you're not at least a little bit in love with both Sam and Dean *g*

How about Bonnie Bennett or Aeryn Sun?

I'll go with Aeryn :)

1. I love Aeryn's character, she and John were my main reasons for watching and getting so invested with Farscape

2. Yes, she's a hugely important emotional touchstone for the protoganist, as well as going through her own growth throughout the series as the female lead

3. I don't relate to Aeryn no, we're very different people. But of course I definitely emphasised with all of her pain and struggles thanks to Claudia Black's incredible work

4. I had a lot of fun with Farscape fandom back in the day. I'm sad that it seems pretty dwindling these days, but I suppose that's the case with most older shows now :(

5. I shipped Aeryn with John obviously!

6. I would probably change the season 4 writing for Aeryn a little bit, the writing for her seemed oddly detached at times and trying a little too hard to be ambiguous? Also I wish that she could have come back with the shorter and more radical hairstyle that Claudia Black was pulling for, I hated her extensions/wig that year!

7. LOL earlier Aeryn probably wouldn't have had a lot of patience with me

8. Definitely, she's one of my favourite female characters ever

9. Again yes, there's a lot to hype up about Aeryn as she was such a strong and kickass female character, but also really vulnerable and damaged at times, and CB brought all that to life flawlessly

1. He's not my favourite character from Queer As Folk (that would be Brian <3), but he's definitely up there as one of my main reasons for watching.

2. I would say that he's fairly important to the plot, there's really 5/6 main characters with the show revolving around their character journeys, and a LOT of screen time and focus does get devoted to Brian/Justin

3. I emphasised with him in terms of him wanting more commitment from Brian, and being hurt at how Brian kept pushing him away

4. I have really had next to no exposure to the fandom, other than tracking down video's on youtube and what fanfic that's left on LJ. It's another show that I started very late

5. Huge shipper of Brian/Justin, they were the main reason I was watching the show. I also liked his platonic friendship with Daphne, and his relationship with his Mother was sweet too

6. I guess that I would have changed the plot with Ethan if I could have, I get that it was probably something that Justin needed to go through at that time in his life when he was getting so frustrated with Brian emotionally withholding, but Ethan just seemed like such a terrible choice of boyfriends :P

7. I think that we would have got along okay?

8. He's not a favourite tbh, I liked his character, but I never fell in love with him. He was cute though!

9. I would definitely hype up his part in the B/J love story as that was my main reason for getting so invested in the show, I'm not sure I would have even kept watching to the end otherwise

1. Well I don't think it's any secret that I'm a big fan of Spike *g* I know a lot of his fans only liked evil Spike or only liked sort of reformed Spike from season 5 onwards, but I always enjoyed every version of his character (on Buffy the series anyway!) I loved how he was introduced as a badass villain in season 2, but then the show immediately undercuts that by showing how devoted he is to Drusilla

2. He's fairly important to the season 2 plot in terms of being the villain in the first half who is attempting to take out Buffy, and then of course his actions in Becoming are what help save the day! He's mostly used as comic relief after that and not particularly important, up until he develops feelings for Buffy, and then he again becomes a pretty big driving force in the show and in Buffy's story

3. In a weird way, kind of? Probably not what the writers were going for at all lol, but when Spike was so heavily pushed as an outsider and the scoobies were rejecting him in episodes like Afterlife or I Was Made To Love You, I always really emphasised with him...

4. Buffy fandom is <3

5. I shipped him early on with Drusilla, and then later with Buffy. I also read quite a few slash fics based around Spike and Angelus and season 2 of Buffy, but by the time of Angel the series my love for that ship was kind of dead *g* I also liked his big brother relationship with Dawn

6. I guess I wish that seasons 6 and 7 had explored his relationships with the other characters outside of Buffy a little more, especially after he got his soul back and Buffy was the only one that seemed to have any impact on. I always thought that was kind of strange?

7. Honestly I have no idea!

8. Yes, he's one of my all time favourite characters

9. Absolutely I would hype him up, his storyline is one of the most interesting and unique of the show to me, plus even as a villain he was still very charismatic and fun to watch with a ton of quotable lines. How many fans have urged newbies to wait until Spike and Dru's intro before just dismissing the show :D

1. I always find her pretty interesting, even when she was just the "mean girl", because of how expert she was at manipulating her friends. Not great for RL life maybe, but always interesting to watch in a tv character! And then seeing her return in the present-day and attempt to evolve as a person has also been really fascinating

2. Definitely, the show is build around Allison's "death", and even on her return the mystery behind what actually happened to her continues to be an important focal point

3. I would say emphasise with more than relate too. We're very different people, but Sasha has done a great job with making me feel Allison's pain and vulnerable moments

4. Fandom seems to be mostly be a tumblr thing, so I'm not very involved in it. I would love if there was a lot of discussion, theorising, and meta on LJ, but alas those days have passed for fandom, and I just cannot keep the activity on tumblr straight *g*

5. I don't really ship Allison with anyone romantically, I was never convinced of Allison's romantic feelings for Emily. I guess I'm the most interested in how she is so drawn to the four "liars". As Spencer once pointed out, Allison is always so keen to threaten and coercive the girls, but really it's Allison who needs them, and she's the one who wouldn't cope if she lost their presence in her life

6. Hmm I don't know, I guess it would be nice if some of her actions in season 5 were a little clearer, but then it wouldn't really be PLL if characters motives were straightforward!

7. Truthfully we wouldn't get on, I would be another "loser Mona" in Allison's eyes :P

8. She is one of my favourite characters from PLL, although not an all-time fav no

9. I would hype her up, I think that the mystery of what exactly happened to Allison is a really intriguing part of the show, and she's one of the most complex and fascinating characters to watch IMO

Yay, I'm so glad that someone else on my flist is watching The Good Wife! I love it so much and I always want to have more discussion each time I finish a season, but those entries get next to no comments :( I only just started it last year myself, I've seen the first four seasons so far, I'm excited to get started on season 5 as so many say that's the best season.

And I'll answer the meme questions in the morning ;)

1. I struggled with my liking of him in the first three seasons, particularly when he reached his height of self-centred behaviour in season 3. But I did find that Dawson of the college years actually grew on me quite a bit, it really did seem like the writers were making a concentrated effort to mature him by then. It felt like they were trying for the same thing in season 4 actually, but it didn't work for as much there because he still so clearly carried a chip on his shoulder over P/J, all while thinking that he was acting so zen and above it all

2. He's more or less the main character of the first four seasons, but the time of the college years it's probably more become Joey's show, so much so that Dawson could miss quite a few episodes in season 6 without it particularly leaving a gaping hole

3. Not really, I found him a hard character to emphasise with because he could so often come across as very spoiled and entitled

4. Dawson's Creek fandom rivals Buffy for nostalgic memories of all the crazy shipper wars, let's put it that way *g*

5. Eh honestly I did ship him with Joey in the first two seasons, but season 3 pretty much killed that for me. I did still like their friendship once they got past the season 3 awkwardness, but any attempts to bring back romance in the college years just seemed forced.

Dawson/Jen didn't make much of an impression on me in season 1, but in season 5 they were actually pretty cute together, I was disappointed that the writers broke them up for such ridiculous reasons

6. I would change his behaviour in season 3 so that it didn't alienate so much of the audience, I think that viewers would have been far more likely to emphasise with all three characters in the triangle if Dawson hadn't y'know tried to kill Pacey in a boat race, or held on to Joey in misery before feeling forced into ~letting her go~

7. Actually I think that I would get along with Dawson okay in real life? What's obnoxious in a tv character probably wouldn't be half as annoying in an everyday person, and Dawson was basically a good guy

8. Kind of a mixture I guess. I didn't hate Dawson as much as a lot of viewers did, but he certainly wasn't a fav either.

9. Well I suppose that you could hype him in terms of it being impressive how many risks the writers were willing to take with writing their main character as flawed and unlikeable? :P
