Fall TV Pilots 2015: The Full List

None of them appeal to me that much at the moment tbh, although it's hard to judge from just those brief summaries obviously. Lol I might check out "Cheerleader Death Squad" though just for the title :P And I'll probably check out the pilot for Supergirl, although lately I'm realising that I just can't seem to get into comic book themed shows and movies in the way that most of my flist does :( My ten years of watching Smallville is starting to seem more and more like some kind of bizarre fluke!

Wow, already? But it's only February (well, almost March, and when did this happen? o_O).

A few could be interesting, though nothing leaps at me like Hieroglyph did last year... and then it didn't happen anyway. T___T

I'll check out the Supergirl pilot, but since it's going to be related to Arrow (I stopped at S3E01) and The Flash (I only watched the pilot) even though it's on CBS and not on the CW, I don't think I'll follow it unless the pilot is exceptional. The only DC show I'm watching is Constantine and I connect much more with the Marvel shows.

None of the descriptions got me particularly excited either :(

With The Flash I found that, while I liked it okay, I just didn't feel any emotional connection to the characters. That seems to be an issue for me with a lot of these comic book themed shows idk, I wish that I could care more about them because Agent Carter, Shield, and The Flash seem to be the shows that have my flist the most excited at the moment, so it makes me feel a little bit out of the loop to not be invested in any of them...

The only one that even slightly interests me is Quantico, and that's only because Priyanka Chopra's in it.

That one didn't really stand out to me, a lot of the pilots seem pretty similar to shows that have gone before, though I suppose thst we can't really judge just from that as they could still turn out to be worth watching

Lucifer sounds hilarious, though not intentionally.

I'm mostly concerned that my new favorites -- Agent Carter, Constantine, and Forever -- are all awaiting news of whether they'll get second seasons.

Constantine is a show where I heard that that NBC have likely dropped it, but it might be picked up by the SyFy network instead? I've been planning to check it out as it sounds like it's got a similar feel to early seasons of Supernatural, plus a lot of the viewers seem pretty passionate about it being a good show that's worthy of a second season, I just need to find the time to watch it!

I'm not even remotely into any of the comic related shows the rest of my flist have gone nuts for either. It's kinda isolating, but I don't care enough to try and watch anyway. I struggled through 5 eps of Agents of SHIELD before accepting that I was always going to find it terribad and there was no use pretending otherwise! I think Arrow got two eps?! I haven't bothered with any of the others...

Yep, for the shows that I'm into it feels like there's never more than two or three people that care enough to discuss them with me (I couldn't even find an active LJ comm for The Good Wife!) It seems like it's mostly the Avengers films and TV spin-offs that most of my flist are super into, and I've come to the conclusion that they're really not my thing

Avengers and its spin offs are all over my flist also. I'm happy for them, obviously, but not interested myself :)

"Really not my thing" fits for me perfectly!

I'm up to date with The Good Wife. I go through periods of LOVING IT WITH ALL OF MY HEART and being really, devastatingly disappointed in it. I'm the latter at the moment.

I'm hoping that by the summer I'll be all caught up The Good Wife, so I should then able to watch season 7 'live' and talk about it with the few people on my flist that do watch! That's why I was searching for a comm actually lol, I was half thinking about pimping my entries there to see if anyone wants to discuss seasons 3 and 4 more, but there wasn't one active comm that had been updated even close to this year. Meh I guess that tumblr really is the only place to do fandom on a larger-scale these days :( I don't suppose there are any discussion or meta tumblrs that you can recommend for TGW?

And yeah same, I'm happy that so many on my flist have shows that they are so passionate about, I just wish that I wasn't so out of the loop with the popular shows of the moment! The Flash wasn't a bad show or anything, but I just couldn't feel really passionate or fannish about it in the end. And I'm still watching The Vampire Diaries, but most of my flist have given up on that it seems compared to the glory days of early season 5 where there was so much discussion and excitement over human Katherine *g* And I guess there's always Doctor Who, that still has a sizeable presence on LJ and I am still watching, there's just less to discuss there when you only get 12 episodes each year...

Unfortunately, I have zero TGW recs I can offer you. I have quite substantially different opinions on a number of characters/storylines/relationships to the vast majority of fandom (and to the Kings on occasion!) and I've learned to stay away from the comms for my own sake! Haha!

I actually kinda want to get back into TVD. I was way, waaaaay invested in Katherine and the way she was killed off DEVASTATED me, but I think, now that my overall level of care factor has dropped so much, I could probably enjoy it for the LOLs again like I did during season one.

Oh out of curiosity, which ones? My thoughts on seasons 3 and 4 seem to be pretty out of step with popular opinion too, Will and Kalinda (Kalinda especially?) both seem to be real fandom darlings, and I'm meh on both of them unfortunately *g*

And season 6 of TVD has been pretty fun so far IMHO, people seem to either love it or hate it at the moment though, I guess that a lot depends on how on board people are with the ships that the show is pushing. On general sites, reading between the lines, I get the sense that a lot of the pushback with the shows current direction comes from disgruntled Klaus/Caroline shippers...

I did a double-take at Rosewood, mostly because I thought it was something connected with Pretty Little Liars, lol.

You're right about not judging based on the descriptions alone, but most of these do seem rather, um, interesting. Nothing in particular stands out to me as something I'd watch, though. You never know, though.

I have never, ever been able to get into cape stuff. I like character dramas and while I know cape stuff doesn't preclude character drama, I still end up not being into it.

I did like Smallville, maybe partly because it was a high school focused show in the beginning and I do tend to get into those more lol (plus the characterisation and portrayal of Lex Luther really drew me in!), but yeah I tend to find the characters a bit too one-dimensional and simplistic when I watch the heavily focused comic book shows like Flash and Gotham

Since I have to cut down my tv-shows now with the job and "losing" 40 hours of my week (*lol*), I am not sure I'm gonna start many new shows with the ones I already have, we'll see... but Supergirl unfortunately has a way too great cast not to at least try it...

True, they won't all be picked up anyway, right? And I thought that some of the comedies seemed okay actually, but I don't know how excited I am to pick up new comedy shows, it's usually dramas that I'm more into, and nothing stood out to me there

Yeah, it was mostly the comedies or genre stuff that looked interesting to me.

I probably wouldn't watch them because not my type of show, but there are so many pilots with a woman as a main character or with women showrunners. I hope some of those at least get picked up.

I did notice that quite a few pilots had female characters in the lead, never a bad thing!

And yeah, some of the comedy premises had potential, but honestly comedy shows are mostly disposable entertainment for me. When you've only got so many hours in the day for watching tv, it's the interesting-sounding dramas and the genre shows that I get really excited to pick up definitely

When I saw the lot I was so disappointed. I know it's hard to judge based on a couple sentences of a pilot that's still in progress in some cases and the whole premise of shows can change on a whim but JFC it's PITIFUL. I hardly ever like the sound of any of the comedies and the dramas that hinge on the idea of an affair or one murder or something that CLEARLY can be solved in a season with a lot of story padding are so pathetic to me.

Looks like another year that I'll be drawn more to the CW stuff than anything cause they have some interesting ideas, at least, and have kind of thrown down with what they're bringing to the table.

And I'll check out the Supergirl pilot because it's Berlanti and he's done pretty good so far with Arrow and Flash. Although I do find SuperMAN one of the most boring superheroes so I hope Supergirl is more exciting.

surprisingly, a lot of those sound like shows I'd check out, lol. I usually try most things, tbh, because you just never know! though I can't remember the last time I was really pleasantly surprised.

Anyway, The Catch has Kate Atkinson involvement and has Mireille Enos which is enough reason to give it a look for me. If the CW orders Dead People I really hope they change the name, that's awful, lol. All of the CW shows sound marginally interesting to me.

I guess I'm easy to please!
