Yeah, I totally agree with what you were saying in your review about him coming across as really rigid in his thinking, it felt like he was determined to see the worst in the Doctor everytime and always see him as a cowardly and uncaring general, even though he was quick enough to take offense when people generalised to him and brought up stereotypes of soldiers.
And I did find Clara and Danny's final moments more moving than I had expected, but admittedly all of my tears were saved for the Doctor and Clara's heartbreaking farewell, that was what really killed me :/
