I guess what they did is since Angel had a son, they decided to make Cordy the better mom for Connor. I have a feeling they went 1 second comparing Fred and Cordy and said, no Fred is way too childish so let's make Cordy the new mom and then the new love interest. Oh and let's take out some of Cordy's personality and make it all about Angel and Connor but more Angel and let's make it a day. And why not add Angel falling for her and practically forget Buffy (even if learning she was alive made him meet Buffy and then back to Buffy who?
For CI2, I heard that was destined to be a TV show and then the show got canned during shooting or something and they said, well, we have all this footage so let's not waste it and make a movie out of it. I guess this explains well why it seems so very similar with Sebastian at the beginning and all. Too similar in fact to be something Sebastian would do. In my opinion, anyway. And he's way too different, personality wise, in that one and it's supposed to be a prequel or whatever...
I prefer Cruel Intentions 3 to that one but nothing will ever beat the original. CI2 had good actors though, like Amy Adams to name only her.
