And this may sound heartless, but I really didn't fault Walt for asking Jesse to kill Gale in 'Full Measures'. I know that many fans hate Walt for it and what it did to Jesse to ask him to kill someone, but well they didn't have a lot of choice at that point. Walt was going to do it himself, but then he had Mike holding a gun on him and ready to kill him, he had to do some fast thinking to save his life.
Completely agree. I mean, Walt had already shown a willingness to step in and kill on Jesse's behalf and the dynamic between them at this point... no, actually, more Walt's mindset at this point, was not quite so... ruthless, I guess? At least, not towards Jesse, and not to the point where he could recognise it in himself. That was still to come.
Oh, god. Walt's characterisation arc on this show. IT GIVES ME CHILLS IN THE BEST WAY!
eta: Fly. OH, YES! Everything you said. What a piece of stand-alone (in many ways) brilliance that still tied in ~seamlessly to where the two of them were at. I have read some of the most brilliant meta about that freaking episode. Seriously. FREE OF FLAWS.
