I'll probably check it out, and it's good that they're not keeping with Smallville's history of him and starting over. I will admit Smallville had me a little burned out on the Green Arrow. LOL

LOL I really loved the Green Arrow focus in season 6, and the season 7 episode was okay too, but I must admit that all of the GA focused episodes in seasons 8-10 (Toxic, Roulette, Disciple) were all sooo cheesy and awful. This actually looks a lot grittier than that rather cheesy comic book focus, so I'm interested in seeing how it will ultimately come off if they do try and keep this series more grounded in reality

Yeah I was at first too (especially as he doesn't seem to be doing much at the moment...), but I guess if they wanted a fresh take for it than it makes sense to recast

It's such a shame that they never did a GA spin-off after season 6 of SV, I think it could have been a really big hit then if they had handled it right

Since it will be airing with SPN, chances are that I will at least check it out although I don't really care for WB shows anymore.

Yeah I think that it should make for a pretty good match-up with SPN (I originally thought it was going to air after TVD), so I hope that Wednesday will now turn out to produce one of the CW's better nights for ratings

I can't do more CW. I'll keep watching TVD, ofc, but I'm turning 30 on Monday and it's starting to feel really dirty to watch this teen network. Also, because Gossip Girl has broken me.

Heh I know what you mean, I feel quite awkward at times that I watch more CW shows than I do any other network, but Arrow does at least look a little grittier and closer to Nikita and Supernatural than the typical CW teen drama

Yeah I'm planning to check out the first few episodes and then see where it goes, but if it starts going in typical CW territory with love triangles than I've had my fill of those for the time-being!

This kinda makes think they're trying to go for a 'Batman Begins' type vibe. I'm not sure if it will work out for them though, given it's on the CW and there's a limit to how dark they can be.

I'll probably watch the pilot out of curiosity.

It does seem out of place with most of the CW's shows, but then they manage a darker feel with Nikita where they can get away with a lot of violence and torture sequences etc (and that's when they were in the 8pm slot), so I'm hoping that Arrow can pull off something similar and not have to tone things down too much

I want to watch for Katie Cassidy, but I've seen Stephen Amell on TVD, and while he's really easy on the eyes, he's a TERRIBLE actor. :/ Also, this looks like it takes itself too seriously, and after Teen Wolf, I'm all about campy light-heartedness these days, heh.

He played whatshername's boyfriend, the werewolf chick who came to town when Mason disappeared and tried to recruit Tyler. (Jules, was it?) He was in that one episode where he tortured Caroline, and another where he stalked Elena around that cabin house till he got his heart pulled out of his chest by Stefan. Heh.

I only remember all this because for some reason, I had started following the guy on Twitter before his arc on TVD (I think the other actors were FFing him), and he seemed cool and had a blog about getting into the acting business and was pretty genuine-sounding, which got me excited for his role, and then I ended up being disappointed because he was SO WOODEN. I don't know, maybe he's gotten better since then, but the trailer gives me the same bland vibes, so I'm not holding my breath.
