I really loved the scenes with Damon and Liz, I always hoped that he was sincere in his friendship with her. Saying "but you're my friend" when she's torturing him *heart melts* And Liz saying the same thing when Mason told her about Damon being a vampire. I hope that Liz isn't compelled to forget, but eventually comes to accept Damon and Caroline. I would love to see them continue to work together even after Liz having full knowledge of Damon

It was also nice to see Damon telling Caroline to be nicer to her mother, it reminded me of when he told Jeremy not to give Elena such a hard time (and hmm, whatever happened to that Damon/Jeremy friendship they were setting up?) I was pretty shocked that Caroline killed the two deputies though, I kind of couldn't blame Liz for freaking out about Caroline no longer being her daughter after that, she did just witness her daughter murder two of her colleagues. What a great moment "Hi Mom" was. I hope they're setting up for Damon to have more empathy for Caroline after his own father also rejected him and Stefan so harshly when they became vampires.

Squee at all of the Stefan and Damon scenes! My favourite relationship of the show, I loved how concerned Stefan was after Damon drunk the vervain. And Damon's look over at Stefan after Liz shot him. Aww. I loved them teaming up to kill Mason too

Caroline kicking Mason's ass was one of the best moments of the episode for me, that was badass :D I was a little bit annoyed with Elena's little speech on how could Caroline work with Katherine after Stefan has done so much for her, and how mad she was at her for that etc. They must have known that Katherine was threatening Caroline and no way would Caroline help her otherwise, I mean hello Katherine was the one that smothered Caroline with a pillow and killed her. Why couldn't Stefan and Elena have been the ones to approach Caroline saying they know about her working with Katherine, and offer some support so that she doesn't feel so alone? I don't see how it was fair to blame Caroline for Katherine blackmailing her, but then I'm probably a little bit biased

I'm still finding Stefan/Elena scenes not as exciting, but that was a lovely moment for them at the end when he drunk her blood. Part of me wishes that they would direct those moments as a little sexier though. TVD doesn't seem interested in the traditional association of vampire drinking with sex, but I really think the show could spice Stefan and Elena up a bit, they never have any really passionate moments together. I would enjoy seeing those feeding moments filmed as actual erotic blood-drinking scenes Idk LOL

I'm really starting to wonder now if the writers are setting something up with Tyler and Jeremy? I know Kevin Williamson said that he didn't want to make the werewolf plot as a coming out story because that's cliche, but the way they keep looking over at one another and having private talks....Oh and good fake-out with the drunk girl falling down the stairs, I was sure they were about to activate the curse then, but I guess that they're saving it for sweeps

It's all a fantasy in Buffy's head followed by a sex fantasy. In reality she's regaling a Spike (who really doesn't want to hear it) with stories of how awesome space frakking was with Twangel.

Oh god I am so sick of erotic blood-drinking in vampire stuff. I wish people would just drop that association.

I know it's kind of lame, but I think it could have made for a much prettier scene, if that makes sense *g* Like last season when Elena feeds Stefan her blood in the woods, and it's portrayed as kind of gross, that's a valid choice too but I guess I'm a sucker for the kind of epically filmed scenes that look good in music video's

One of the B/A scenes I did like was from Graduation Day when Angel drinks Buffy's blood, even though I'm not a big fan of Angel in that scene obviously, I think viewing it out of context makes for a really gorgeous-looking shot

Heh, well, if you're biased, I am, too, because I thought the same thing! Actually, I pretty much agree with this whole post. :)

I don't know about erotic blood-drinking (I'm not much for vampire tropes), but they've got to do something to spice up Stefan/Elena. My eyes just about rolled out of my eye sockets when they came up with that secret "I love you" code. And then when they actually used it? I think I sprained something.

Huh. I didn't really see that. Although if it's true, I will be REALLY sorry they spent all that time on the male posturing when they could've been having a hot threesome with Vicki. ;)

I didn't mind Stefan/Elena last season, but all they seem to do this year is share comforting hugs and kisses, and it all feels so samey. This will probably sound strange, but I think it doesn't help that Elena always wears such similar tops (this show seems less into giving the characters new tops and new coats every episode than most shows). I mean points for realism, but it makes it harder for me to distinguish one kiss from the next, especially when they all seem to be shot in a similar way. And I'm not sure how to explain myself, so I'm sure you have no idea what I'm talking about *g*

I just thought their moments like the kiss on the football field stood out more last season I guess than all these kisses and hugs in Elena's bedroom. That's why the blood drinking scene was at least something different, and it would have been nice if they could inject *some* passion into the relationship. Last seasons sex scene showed that they do have some chemistry together IMO, although I know a lot of people don't see it

And it felt deliberate to me between Jeremy and Tayler with the girls joking about them having a moment, Jeremy looking so disgusted when the girl asked for him to go upstairs with her, but it's also very possible that I've just spend too much time with fandom picking over every last bit of subtext :P

LOL, I hadn't noticed the clothes thing! But I think the fact that I didn't notice their clothes means that (unlike the early Buffy years), the wardrobe is pretty normal.

I think a lot of the difference has to do with the change in plot. Last season, they had a lot of things to do that had nothing to do with their relationship. Opening the tomb, the escaped tomb vampires, Isobel, Jonathan Gilbert's invention. The relationship wasn't the focus. They could just be in a relationship without having to reinforce it all the time.

This year, because the plot is all about Katherine, they always seem to need to reassure each other how much they love each other, so she doesn't come between them. And it gets really tedious to have scene after scene of them proclaiming their love and not doing much else.

I'm sure that he will "glamour" her but we all know that it doesn't really stick (hello! Jeremy). And yes, it would be great that Liz would come to accept Damon but more importantly her own daughter.

I'm finding Stefan/Elena far too starry eyed romantic than really interesting, I keep hoping that they really do break up because I suspect they'll be more interesting trying to actually get back together.

Yeah I don't mind them as a couple, but they are getting kind of boring together now. I'm more excited to see something happen between Stefan and Katherine, and get some fall-out from that
