A new spoiler for The Vampire Diaries!

http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b198182_spoiler_chat_holy_shocker_guess_whos.html#ixzz0yEXckZDN

George in St. Louis: How about some Vampire Diaries scoop? You've been holding out on us for far too long!
Get ready for another awesome twist! I can tell you that a human you already know on the show is going to be turned into a vampire in season two. Any guesses on who? How? When? Where? Why? Don't start thinking you have it all figured out, smarty pants! It's gonna be pretty fantastic

I'm sooo hoping it will be Caroline that gets turned!!! With the spoiler worded as "Don't start thinking you have it all figured out, smarty pants!" I think Jeremy is the least likely suspect as he was the character actively trying to become a vampire in last seasons finale. And I dont think they really need to turn Bonnie on top of the witch storyline she already had going on

Turning Caroline would be a great way to get her more involved with the action again after she and Matt were sidelined so much. I would love to see Caroline dealing with eternal life. Plus it would create conflict for a lot of different characters trying to deal with it. Not just Elena and Bonnie trying to help their friend (Bonnie reconsidering her stance on vampires if one of her closest friends gets turned?) but also Matt could find out about the supernatural and what happened to Vicky if his girlfriend gets turned. That would make both Matt and Caroline a lot more relevant than they have been. Not to mention the dilemma it would cause for Caroline's mother, who has always been so determined to protect the town from vampires, and then finds her own daughter has become one. Damon's reaction to it could be interesting too considering his abusive history with Caroline

I was like "I shouldn't read this spoiler I shouldn't click this link" and then I did both, obviously. I think your theory is pretty good. The first thing I thought after the wording was that it could be Caroline. I love the idea of getting her more involved with the main plot. I think it would also work with Matt as well, but I'd WAY rather it be Caroline because she's such a BAMF already.

Totally, tbh I wouldn't be that excited about Matt as a vampire cause I find him kind of bland. I do think Caroline turning could give him a decent storyline though as he tries to cope with that, and the show could bring some more excitement to their relationship after it stagnated last season. The start of their relationship was so adorable, but I'm sure they could use Caroline in a better way than having her insecure around Matt all the time, and keeping the two of them so seperate from the more interesting supernatural storylines

Caroline is in the hospital in the first episode, so it's conceivable that Katherine (presuming she's the one to turn her) could sneak in somehow disguised as Elena

I did wonder about Elena, but there's been spoilers that next season will really see her and Stefan addressing the issue of Stefan being immortal while Elena is going to age, so I think it's going to be too soon to turn her. If anything I'd expect them to save that for season 3 as they already have a lot going on in season 2 with the Katherine drama and flashbacks, so don't really need the turning Elena storyline as yet

Caroline is utterly boring.

Boo, she's one of my favourites :P I agree the storylines they were giving Caroline weren't all that exciting though once they paired her and Matt off in their own seperate storyline, I don't think it's a such a great idea to pair off two supporting characters and then keep them irrelevant to the main action. Still an evil(ish) Caroline coming to terms with being a vampire could be really awesome for season 2.

You've started watching now then I take it? :)

I'm near the end and getting pissed off with the bullshit about Stefan having problems when he drinks human blood. I have as of yet found nothing interesting about Caroline or her bf Matt or his annoying mother (though I liked his sister and I wish she hadn't been killed off. She was way more interesting than Caroline). Bonnie is boring too. The awful actress who played Kendra on Buffy was back as an ancestor witch. Luckily she didn't have too much screentime.

Aww really? I love Stefan, and that one was one of my favourite storylines. At first I feared his character was just going to be a broody Angel rip-off, and it struck me as a bit odd that he wanted to go back to high school. But I love that they actally made him intelligent and knowledgeable of various events over the times he had been alive (I never quite brought it when Angel was sat there with some philosophical text conveniently opened in front of him :P ) Stefan really does come across as a bit of an old soul to me, and I can buy that he was around to experience all of those different time periods and soak them in. This is going to sound weird, but I loved the scene when he was dancing (while on human blood), and it came off just like an embarrassing uncle dancing at a wedding, things like that really help me to buy him as a lot older than he looks. I found the human blood drinking plot one of the most interesting because Stefan usually has such a calm exterior, so it was interesting to me to see all of that ripped away. It made him more of a complex character than the simple bad and good brothers that were presented to us in the pilot

And I'm not a huge fan of Bonnie either, the witch storyline just isn't something that interests me much. There's been a few good scenes there (I did like when she reveals her powers to Elena), but overall it's a little meh to me. The scene where she lost her grandmother was very well done, but then Bonnie comes back with all these powers developed off-screen and again I found it hard to connect with the character. I do like the Caroline actress a lot though, but I was definitely more interested in her early on when she was "dating" Damon, the writers lost her a bit with the pairing with Matt, which is why I hope they will be brought more into the supernatural side of it next season.

I don't have any problems with Stefan, but I hate this bullshit that being on animal blood makes him weaker, and the human blood storyline was clearly just put in to show he can't be on human blood. It also kind of implied all vamps who are on human blood can't control themselves and are nasty, which doesn't fit with how Lexi was portrayed and limits their room for creating likable vamp characters who aren't wimps.

I dislike Bonnie. I think she's a Willow rip-off and I dislike her high and mighty attitude at the end. I liked grams. They should have killed off Bonnie and kept grams.

I think Stefan's problem is that he has abstained from human blood completely for so long. I saw it as Damon and Lexie had gained control over it through the years, but Stefan steering clear of human blood means that he never really did learn to control the urge, so when he does get back on it it's a sort of all or nothing situation for him. Much like Vicky when she was first turned, and Stefan was trying to help her. Stefan is kind of like a newly turned vampire in that respect

I liked Grams too :)

Well that adds up, EXCEPT there's this comment by Damon that he knows how it is, there's this switch that goes off and you snap, as if he and all human-blood-drinking vamps have the same self-control problems Stefan demonstrates, which doesn't fit with the general impression they gave us of Lexi or with making anymore likable non-wimp vamp characters like her.

Did I miss something? I didn't know you watched Vampire Diaries! OMG. lol, or maybe I just forgot.

Yeah, I have no idea who's going to become a vamp, but I can't wait to see it. Caroline would be a good candidate, I like her, even though I don't care all that much about her storyline with Matt. He's like the most forgettable character on the show to me (though his mom was awesome!) Yeah, this could definitely make their relationship more interesting.

I need to post about it more *g* Once the new season starts I'm gonna try and update more

And yeah I don't dislike Matt or anything, but next to the other characters he just doesn't come across as all that exciting, just a typical jock character in a teen drama. I don't think he adds much, so I would much rather they had killed him for the shock death's in the finale instead of Anna :/

Yeah, Matt should be a much more interesting character than he is. He's got the unrequited love for Elena, the alcoholic mom, the missing (actually dead) sister, and the feeling that Caroline doesn't think he's good enough for her. But somehow, his angst comes across as somewhat... generic? IDK.

Man, I really liked Anna and Pearl.

I loved Pearl, I was so annoyed at how underwhelming her death was :/ And Anna I loved even more, plus she was the only thing that made Jeremy interesting to me :P

I hope that the two of them will return for flashbacks next season anyway. I'm interested in finding out how Peal knew Katherine, and how both Anna and Pearl were turned as mother and daughtert

I liked Anna. I was meh on Pearl. The thing I don't get is Pearl was portrayed as being so much more powerful than Damon because she was 400 years older, but Anna was shown to be about the same strength as him (in their mutual strangulation scene) and she had to be almost as old as Pearl, because Pearl couldn't have had any kids after she got vamped. Anna was never portrayed as an especially powerful vamp, just stronger than Damon expeted for her size. I don't think the show is very well thought-out.

Yeah a lot of people wondered about how Damon could overpower Anna... I'm hoping we will get some more flashbacks next season to explain more about Anna's turning.

["With the spoiler worded as "Don't start thinking you have it all figured out, smarty pants!" I think Jeremy is the least likely suspect as he was the character actively trying to become a vampire in last seasons finale."]

Or it could be just them trying weakly to deflect suspicion. I think it's going to be Jeremy.
