Aww so who else received a "Return your friends to LiveJournal!" email yesterday? I appreciate the attempt, but it just feels like it's too late to ever recapture LJ's heyday :( It would be cool if people can get a few months of paid account time out of it though

And I'm halfway through Community season 5 at the moment! I loved seasons 1 and 2, but IMO season 3 kind of went off the rails towards the end. I hate Chang so much and waaay too much time was spend on his craziness, and then the whole plot at the end of him taking over Greendale was just too much. I know that Community was never exactly a strictly realistic show, but I guess that I'm just not a fan of when shows get completely absurd. And then I didn't even know what to make of Abed deciding that he was evil Abed and wanting to cut off Jeff's arm?!? It seemed odd that they would make the character come off as an actual danger to his friends after how much the show had previously emphasised that Abed might be a little kooky and different, but he's hardly dangerous. Maybe I'm overthinking it though :P Season 3 definitely had a LOT of outstanding episodes, but overall it just felt like things got really self-indulgent and forced wacky towards the end, if nearly every episode is a high-concept one then it just starts to feel a bit much after a while...

I'm still trying to decide what I think about season 4 after hearing how terrible it is. A couple of episodes were trying too hard to be gimmicky definitely, I wasn't a fan of the puppet episode at all, or the 'evil timeline' from the finale, but overall I enjoyed the character interaction a lot in season 4 and don't really get why people apparently hated it? Its main drawback is that it's only 13 episodes, so at times it feels a bit rushed, but I wonder if people would be so hard on it if it had the same number of episodes as season 3 got? I really enjoyed the Halloween episode, the thanksgiving episode, the dance episode, and the body-switching episodes especially. I could tell the difference more when starting season 5 mind you, the writing was definitely a lot sharper and funnier (LOVED the bottle episode dealing with Pierce's death), but I still thought that season 4 had something to offer as well :shrugs:

My favourite characters are Jeff, Britta, and Abed, and I'm a little bit of a shipper for Jeff/Britta, although I gather that Jeff/Annie is the audience favourite? I never seem to ship the popular pairings any more *g*

I've been reading up on what happened with Chevy Chase and lol I'm really shocked to find out how much tension there apparently was on set, they always seemed to be having so much fun in the bloopers!
