Does anyone else dislike Giles in The Gift in the scene with Buffy where it goes,
"Go ahead. Tell me to kill my sister"
"She's not your sister"
When the whole season had been about Buffy accepting and loving Dawn. Okay I may be biased because I love the relationship between those two, but still. If there was a way to encourage Buffy to kill Dawn, that really wasn't it. I mean what was Giles trying to say. To have the strategy that you should just pretend Dawn's not really your sister, she's just the Key for you to go kill. Never mind how much that kind of thinking would have damaged Buffy
