Mine has definitely got to be Beecher's fate. After Tom Fontana made such a big deal about wanting to make it so that all the prisoners belonged there, and avoid the cop-out of any of them being falsely convicted, I really hate that they would end Beecher's story in that way. Especially after how uplifting it could have been from season 5's dream. He had to take care of Holly! If anyone didn't deserve life in prison, it was Beecher :/

Well, that's probably why they say that Oz was the closest to the real life in prison. Shitty stuff like that happens and it rarely works out for the best.

True *sighs* Although I did think they went a bit nuts in killing everyone in season 6, but I suppose that Alvarez's fate was actually pretty true to life :/

While Beecher is one of my favourite fictional characters of all time, it's Miguel who tore at my heart-strings. That actually hurt me more than Beecher's fate.

Alvarez was probably the most depressing in Oz because you just knew that he wasn't a bad person really, but he just got more and more lost as the series went on. And he was trying so hard to make a go of it in the end *sighs*

I picked Keller killing himself because it would then encompass the awful way B/K ended and the whole stupid Beecher-on-death-row thing. So, three frustrating Season 666 things for the price of one vote!

Exactly. And it was out of character—it seemed like they just did it to tie up loose ends. Same with a lot of the last-season deaths, actually.

Yeah I think they went a bit overboard. Some of the deaths we'd been waiting for, like Schillinger dying at the hands of Beecher was good to end the show with. But Keller, Hill, and Said all dying???

Keller killing himself was so OOC, it was like the baddest badfic ever written.

I know I'm in a minority (possibly a minority of one!) on this, but I actually kind of liked Beecher's fate. I did want to see it end another way for him -- I always wanted the series to end with Beecher walking out of Oz as a long-haired, hardened man, kind of a poetic opposite of how he went in -- but I wasn't unsatisfied with his ending. I think his smile at the end gave me a lot of fodder for thought, which is pretty much what TF always did for me with the show.

OTOH, the death of Said (though it didn't occur in the final ep) will *always* be the low point of the show for me. What a waste. :(

Oh yes. Wow, the flame Eamonn Walker could conjure in Said's eyes! He was an unstoppable force of steady indignation.

I hated Said's death happening off-screen, and only being told about it at the beginning of an episode. What a waste :/

What did you make of Beecher's final smile? I always took it as him having a quiet chuckle over Keller handling the Aryan's for good

Yeah it was Beecher's fate that bothered me most.

The actor was one of the regulars in a cop show I saw a bit of a while back. ::looks it up:: "Wanted" in 2005. They were sort a team of rough mavericky cops brought together to deal with dangerous criminals. He popped up in The Unit as a terroristy type recently.

Which is so bizarre, considering how amazing LT is playing the hurt, wounded puppy-dog that all his fans want to scoop up and cuddle.

I, for one, will never, ever forgive Tom Fontana for leaving Beecher stuck in prison and apparently facing the death penalty. It was a show without many happy endings or much hope, but Beecher deserved better than that.

I know, especially after how well Beecher did adjust when he briefly got out in season 6 :/ The season 5 finale dream ending was perfect too

At the end of his journey in Oz, it would have been the perfect ending for him to leave sadder but wiser. Not to just be kept there forever to rot

Maybe I totally saw the show differently or I live in fantasy land but I didn't think Keller killed himself or that Beecher was facing any time for it, I thought it was clear that it was an accident.

The B/K ending hurt me the most (still not over it) but the most frustrating was definitely Alvarez. They should have given him a chance!

In his discussion with Sister Pete afterwards though, Toby said that he was facing the death sentence now :/

I just realistically can't see that ever happening. I'm sure with a *trial* or whatever they'd figure out it was an accident. And even if they didn't, he only killed one person, accidentally one in his previous sentence and he has good lawyers who'd get him out of it. Of course I think the death penalty was applied/threatened a bit too easily on the show so who knows. I can't see it though.

I hope so, I would hate for Toby to get life. I always wanted the show to end with him reunited with Holly :/
