Oh, yes. Both the acting and the directing in that scene were amazing. And it was/i> more personal to Lex and added a lot more to his history. Plus I always thought it would have tied in better to Lionel's comment to Clark in 'Bound' regarding the women Lex picks up reminding him of Lillian.

I understand to some extent why they used the 'Hourglas' footage, Lex not seeing his future but fearing it because of what Cassandra saw and the effect that had. But I do think the deleted scene would have had a more powerful impact.

And yeah, I think you're right that the network probably had a hand it that scene being changed :/
