Only one more episode of DLM to go, and then I will have seen every episode they ever made...
George and Rube were my favourites in season 1, but in season 2 I think it's Daisy. Oh I liked when Daisy tells George she's self-involved and always seems to be listening to a voice inside her head, and then we get the voice-over, "Am I". Hee!
And George knew about Ray's death, and Roxy knew and was covering up, right? But Rube doesn't found out? And so is that how gravlings are created, from deaths of evil people like Ray. And if so, how did George manage to get rid of Ray *confused*
And I ship Mason and Daisy. I bet that they were likely to get together in season 3. Damn

Date: 2006-07-25 07:45 pm (UTC)I think I related to George less in season 2. I still really love her because well...George! But in season 1 she reminded me of my life so much, how you've finished education and you're stuck not knowing what to do next, and the jobs you find are all so dreary. I understand character development is good and neccessary, but season 2 saw her being big-time successful at Happy Time, and really becoming part of the whole corporate world. I related to her less, and Daisy become my favourite instead. Not that I relate to Daisy at all lol
There was a more ensemble feeling in season 2 as well, and I'm not sure if I prefer that or not. In season 1 there were heaps of scenes with Goerge having meaningful interaction with the other reapers, which I did miss. Whereas season 2 sees Rube doing his own thing, and Mason/Daisy getting seperate storylines. But those storylines were really gripping, so maybe it balances out. Maybe. I really want to watch season 1 again now. See George just starting out in that world, crying with Roxy over the confrontation with her parents, getting guidance from Rube etc *nostalgic* And I wonder why Roxy never gets much of a decent plot...

Date: 2006-07-27 02:19 pm (UTC)Daisy/Mason dynamic was so good, and I think that seemed like THE story arc.
I wonder if they would have dealt with Rube's story a little more in S3, because although you know what's going on..you don't really. Because Rube is so inward and lives on the "periphery", except he doesn't.
I'm sure Roxy would have a story, although she grows to love this family, you realize that in her covering for them, she's not as much a hardass bitch as they all think she is.
I really loved the finale though, it was..open ending but not at the same time. It did give you closure, but it also left us feeling that we wanted more. Plus it was just uber creepy (my birthday is Halloween!)

I think they mention it in the commentaries, but they said something about Mason is just SUCH a fuck up, just when you think he can change, he won't, he'll just revert to what he was. He's not the type of character that grows or learns from his mistakes.
