Yeah, I thought the film was a bit long too, but I agree BR really shone as both Superman and Clark Kent. (I actually liked his CK better than Chris Reeve's, b/c it was a bit less phony.) (Don't get me wrong, I loved it!)
Great point about the glasses--it hadn't even occurred to me until you mentioned it, but yes, WHY would young Clark need those things?
As for KB, I was on the fence about her at first, but later on she came across as pretty feisty. (As for turning back the plane without dropping off her son--yeah, that bothered me, but maybe she knows Jason can't be hurt?)
And the only "continuity" I saw with SV was the design of the FoS. Everything else seemed to track the original two movies (I did think Lois' remark "he never lies" was a direct reference to Margot Kidder's "interview" with CR's Supes.)
KS's Lex was very enjoyable, but I would've liked more scenes with BR's Supes. And I couldn't help thinking how MR would've played the scenes, so I'm sure that distracted me. Overall, I think SV's take on Lex is much more interesting (at least, as originally conceived. :/)
