I got into Nip/Tuck recently. I brought seasons 1 and 2 on DVD. Season 3 was out on 8th May, so I had to wait about two weeks for the cliffhanger to be resolved, and it was killing me. Poor Christian
I really liked Adrian in season 2, and thought he got a raw deal. When Ava started emotionally manipulating him, and admitting to seducing him at 12 when he believed she was his mother, I couldn't believe Julia and Sean didn't try and help him at all :/
Ava was mostly an evil bitch, but she was so fun to hate. And I did find her passing in that airport scene quite touching. Even if she had just left Adrian behind to rot *sighs* I was so shocked at the big reveal lol.
Kit mostly bugged me. The final scene with her and Quentin was pretty cool though. I don't know why, maybe I'm getting desensitized, but the revelation that Quentin didn't have a penis didn't particularly shock me. Especially not compared to how floored I was at the season 2 finale revelations on Ava. Actually it's a shame that Quentin and Kit weren't revealed sooner to the audience, so we could have had more scenes like "now drink your sangria you whiny bitch". It seemed they wanted to save the big shocks for the finale, but seeing them manipulating the other characters for a couple of episodes would have been really cool, just letting the audience in on the big reveal a little sooner
The carver terrified me when he was stalking Sean in the bathroom with that head-tilt *shivers* And when he suddenly appears behind Rhea (sp?) promising her real pain, and then that vicious slash.
Loved his final scene with Christian and Sean. It all tied together so nicely . (I loved an earlier scene when the song War starts to play with Quentin and Sean over surgery!) Maybe I'm twisted but heehee to "we made love" or "She offended me". He seemed to be having such a good time *g* And big aww to Christian offering to cut off his own hand to save Sean.
Knowing Kit was working with Quentin explained some of the things I was wondering about (like the unprofessional interrogation of Christian when she was getting off on him remembering the rape ick).
The saddest part of the storyline was what happened to Kimber. When she was in that bloody wedding dress ouch. Although her final turn-around conversation with Christian was a clever way of writing her out. I hope we see some of the changed Kimber next season. And a reconciliation with Christian! They're my two favourite characters, and in season 3 they suddenly became a really sweet couple.
Gina and Matt are my most disliked characters. Matt is just a freak, and anytime he's not in an episode, it's automatically better.
Overall I liked season 3 less than the first two seasons though. Sometimes Sean's storylines are really boring. Like the thing with the car accidents, or going into witness protection. And Christian/Quentin doing the cases just wasn't the same. I missed some of the cases from earlier seasons like Schillinger from Oz wanting the breasts. There seemed to be less of those type of cases, and more just personal misery for the characters.

Date: 2006-05-18 10:16 pm (UTC)I hated Kit. Just from the moment I saw her. I was so glad when Quentin cut her. I wished they explored their dynamic more, but I remember watching the end scene with them by the pool over and over again. Their glee at perpetuating this grand hoax was great.
Gina and Matt are trash, but I think Matt is redeeming himself slowly but surely. Very slowly. Because I wanted him dead since he committed that hit and run during Season 1 and wouldn’t cop to it.

I actually forgot about that storyline, that’s how disinterested I was in it.
I was looking for fanfic, but I found the selection unsatisfying, so I just wait for the eppys.

Yeah, I doubt if anyone could have helped Adrian, but I was surprised that Sean and Julia seemed so unconcerned. I mean Ava clearly treated him like crap, she accused him of mental problems, threw his clothes out. And I understand Matt being their main concern, but it was pretty upsetting that they only spared a thought for a teenage boy in so far as how his tragic lifestory would help them get Matt away from Ava. They didn't seem the slightest bit moved by it, and I would have thought the incest revelation would have caused more of a response.
And I know! The pool scene is what I was thinking of. They actually made a fun couple. When Quention sees someone else to go slash, and Kit's just throwing her hand up like it's the boring thing in the world. Heehee. More of those scenes of them working together as a couple would have been fun, but it seemed they wanted to save it up, just so they could include surprise twists for the finale.

But I thought season 3's finale was still pretty good in how it dealt with the Carver, and Christian and Sean sticking by one another. My main problem was just the boring stuff in the middle of season 3. That plane episode with Julia *snore*

They kind of looked similar, and I don't know if they were trying to create a similarly manipulative character, but Kit just grated on my nerves most of the time. I would have loved to have seen more of her relationship with Quentin. Maybe next season *g*
