I stopped watching Dawson's Creek after season 4, and I was advised not to buy seasons 5 and 6 on DVD, which I had been considering. But I just got the finale today! (Yes, I know I have no money to be buying DVD's. Just ignore that part.)

When did Dawson sleep with Jen? And the final clips from past seasons were so perfect. I noticed Jack was included in none of them though lol. I wish they'd done more past clips actually, the ones they had got me so nostalgic.

And Andie got so beautiful! They should have given her more screen time. In season4 I always thought she would work well with Dawson. I loved all the fan shout-outs at the restaurant scene.

The Joey/Pacey was perfect of course. And OMG Jen! When Jack lies in bed with her, and "Say Goodnight, not Goodbye" starts playing *sobs* And then when Jen is saying she never really fit, and Jack calls her his soulmate. And Gram's final goodbye to her. You don't even want to know how much I was crying at that point.

Questions. Pacey moved to New York with Joey at the end? What about The Icehouse? And at first I thought they were all living in Capeside, other than Dawson in LA, and Joey in New York. But then someone said something later, I can't remember what now, that made me think Jen wasn't living in Capeside. Was she or wasn't she?

Pacey and Jack were the only ones living in Capeside.

Dawson and Jen slept together early in S5.

Andie wasn't actually in the televised version of the finale. Her part was cut. Which I was okay with since I hated her. But also, her scene with Pacey was like every other scene they'd had for the last year she was on the show. All in all, I thought she was an unneeded distraction since she hadn't been on the show in over 2 years. Although, if you skipped right from S4 to the finale, her appearance was probably less jarring.

Honestly, S6 of the show isn't bad. There's some great Pacey/Joey stuff. And the show really wrapped up nicely in the end. S5, OTOH, is a trainwreck. Although, it was so fluffy and meaningless, that it was actually kind of fun in how bad it was.

Oh I agree writing Andie out was a good thing. I loved her in season 2, but it does become pretty clear how they were struggling to find a place for her by the end

I was just wishing there'd been more of her in the finale, because it was mostly build around nostalgic purposes. Andie was a pretty big part of their life in high school, and I remember the season 4 episode when Joey, Jen, and Andie discuss the future. So it's nice that we got to see her again at least. I wasn't expecting her to be a major part, but her scene was too brief for me. Not even a reunion with Joey or anything. And they were all great friends when they part back in season 4 *shrug*

I have been advised to d/l Castaways. See, I was going to buy season 6 because I know there is some J/P reunion. But people pretty much said just d/l Castways, and grab the finale, and you're good *g*

I never thought they were actually friends with Andie. Not after how Andie treated Joey in S3. And then, like I said, she was gone early in S4, so if you watched 5 and 6, she had really not been a part of any of their lives for a long time.

Actually, I think there were more episodes worth watching in S6 than just Castaways. For just the P/Jo stuff, there's Clean and Sober, Castaways, Now and Then, Sex and Violence (crappy ep, but some good P/J), and Love Bites. But then I also love Joey Potter and the Capeside Redemption, which is kind of a mini-finale, in that it's the last episode before the 5 year fast forward in the final finale. Heh. But I actually even like some of the early season stuff...just to watch D/J get together, have sex, and break-up all in one episode. It was like the writers were checking things off their Final Season To-Do List.

I would have probably found it annoyingly long. Like "Jeez, hurry up already, I want to go celebrate!"

What was sad was that it didn't happen in season 1.

My only problem was that they killed off Jen. I mean, WTF? It's not like it's a slasher movie or something where "the bad girl" has to die, and yet, they went there anyway. :grumpy:

I don't have a DC icon (and I'm not sure I need one), but since I feel about Bo Kent roughly like I felt about Dawson (both are total asses to the people they're supposed to love), I'm using my Bo icon.

It did annoy me when the screen descriptions had Joey editor, Dawson movie producer, Jack teacher, and Jen single mum. I mean c'mon, she was smart. They couldn't have given her a career? Even Pacey got his own restaurant, the one who never made it to college.

But she seemed really happy with her baby, which consoled me somewhat. They mentioned Abby Morgon, hahaha I loved that reference. I don't really think of Jen as the bad girl, but thinking about it, it is annoying that both she and Abby die. And Jen ending up the single mum which is kind of a cliche.

But then it came across that they were killing Jen as the way to make everyone saddest, and make the finale memorable. They had to keep all members of the triangle alive lol. So it would be either Jen or Jack. And er after the fuss of killing made over Tara in Bts, I'm not surprised they went with Jen

Jen worked at an art gallery, didn't she?

I must have missed that bit. The DVD chapter descriptions had a career for all of them but Jen. And Jen later saying she wants her death to go well, because she's failed at a lot of stuff, made me assume things didn't work out that great for her

Heh. And now you made me go look. From the transcript summary (http://www.geocities.com/TelevisionCity/Set/6579/623.htm), "Jen is a single mom living with Grams and managing an art gallery in Soho."

*sniffs* I think sometimes they overdid the whole bravely dying girl thing just a tad, but it still got me sobbing anyway :p

I thought that too, but hey, it had what I'm sure was their desired effect, I cried and cried even though I hadn't seen DC in awhile.

I am buying Season 6 for two reasons.

1. Jack/Doug becoming canon (I shipped them long before it was even a possibility)

2. Jensen Ackles plays Jen's boyfriend (but so not the one who left her, in my world, that was the rebound guy *nods firmly*) in about half the season.

Jack/Doug played out in the finale, so you could just get the finale disc for that.

Okay you do need the entire season for the second reason though *g* Why did he leave her? If you can talk about it :p

I know, but there's the other reason.

We actually don't know. In the ep (or maybe it was a couple before, but there was never any other mention of him) before the finale, Jen and CJ (Jensen) were together and happy as far as we knew. Then the finale flashes forward a few years and Jen was left pregnant by her boyfriend (not naming who it was). I simply fanwank it - because given the portrayal in the series of CJ it *was* OOC for him - that it wasn't CJ, that they broke up for some other reason, and the guy who ran out on her was post-CJ and I usually just say it must have been the rebound guy because that makes it a bit more dramatic and angsty.

And I will do a lot for my obsessions. In the last *day* that includes buying the DVD of The Calcium Kid not for Orlando Bloom (not that he's a deterrent or anything...) but for Billie Piper. Because I'm just that sad obsessed. Oh, and there's the John Barrowman CD my mum bought me for Christmas - okay, I got the money off her and that's what I spent it on but that sounds so much more Christmassy to say I got it from her :)
