So Sarah is no longer doing the Alice film I heard.

I wanted to see that one! More than another horror sequel anyway :/ Is there any chance it might still happen....

That's unfortunate, because of all the things she's been attached to, that seemed like it had the greatest possibility for being a big draw.

It would have been really creepy and different. I've ben waiting patiently for her to start filming that one for so long now *pouts*

That's really disappointing, I think she would have been great in that role. :\

I know! I want to see her in a really good dramatic role, think of how excellent she was in Normal Again when playing the nutty girl.

She's already done horror, another sequel to The Grudge is all very well, but I'd like to watch her doing something different. Obviously it's all about me :p

I know what you mean. I actually think she is a pretty amazing actress, I mean you only have to watch The Body, but when she takes roles like Scooby Doo it just makes me cringe because really she could do so much better.

I never saw Scooby Doo :p It did make her a lot of money, so can be considered somewhat of a success. But yeah I would rather see her in dramatic films that I am actually interested in watching...

With Scooby Doo, she would have been better off skipping on the sequel

Well, you never know. Maybe it's just been temporarily shelved. It's still listed on imdb, and I never saw an actual article about it being over, I just heard about it from several people. Bright side? It was another genre film and might have ended up type-casting her even further. She's probably better off focusing on The Air I Breathe and Girl's Guide.

What are those two about again? One's based on a book, right?

Heh. It's not about either. That's why it's now referred to as the "Untitled Marc Klein project". It's pretty basic chicklit. It's okay, but it's kind of meandering and forgettable. Hence, me not really remembering what it's about. I mostly remember it jumping around in time, some kind of affair with an older man who was a publisher, I think? That'll be Alec Baldwin. And going on vacation with her family, who I think were all snobby academic types. I really should re-read that book.

The Air I Breathe is apparently 4 short stories that are each like a little morality play dealing with 4 different emotions. Whatever. Kevin Bacon's in it. That's all I know. Although, with the story structure, SMG probably won't even get to work with him.

I'd love to see Sarah doing romantic comedies, if it was a decent script. We know she can do comedy from her work on Bts. But the really good scripts probably wouldn't fall in her lap first. Julia Roberts, Sandra Bullock (sp?) etc seem to have the marked cornered there

I think that's tragic. Somehow, from her work in BtVS you would think she is one of the greatest actresses alive - funny, tragic, tense, absurd, and always so expressive that they learned to let every single scene work itself out on her reaction shot. But I do not think that she has reached the same levels of brilliance on any other project that I have seen. Perhaps she tries too hard not to be Buffy elsewhere, and that may crimp her style a bit. But one keeps hoping that sooner or later she will make that breakthrough project that will establish her once and for all as the top talent she is.

Buffy really was an actors dream with all the opportunity for comedy, drama etc.

I think part of the problem is that the film scripts she gets just aren't of the same caliber. And while she is doing well in Hollywood, she doesn't get the chance to pick and choose the very best scripts because they go to others first.

I was looking forward to that and, really, it seemed that could be the best thing she had done. Damn.

I hope they are at least still making the movie though...

Aww man and I was telling a friend about this movie the other night. I was really looking forward to it and I thought SMG would have been a fantastic Alice. Shit.

Yep. She's doing quite a few films, but that's the one that really caught my eye

It seems that most people think it's still going ahead so maybe it's just a really scary rumour. We can hope!

It's been in the works for a while now, so I was really hoping they would start filming for next year.

It definitely needs to be made! There's just so much potential to be an amazing piece of work. I don't know how accurate they are these days, but SMG's still listed as being Alice over on imdb and the film's listed as being in pre-production at this point.

Though, I find it completely irritating that the boards for Alice are filled with gamer nerds (not that I'm not a gamer nerd myself), who are up in arms about SMG playing Alice, because they know nothing of her aside from Scooby Doo and the The Grudge. If they saw Normal Again they'd definitely shut up.

It's sounding more like speculation that it's not happening because of people no longer being asembled. It could still go ahead I hope...

I'm hoping the horror sequel will just be a cameo, people were saying the timing clashes with another project she has lined up. So hopefully it will just be a brief Drew Barrymore type appearance

Ya I hope so, it's filming around the same time as the Air I Breathe, and I'm much more interested in that one.
