I know I am contrary and weird. But the anger on TWoP recently has had a bad effect on me. I keep on defending clana finally happening. I can't be the only one who prefers clana happy and at least somewhat other than mopey, like in the Slumber swimming scene, as opposed to the non-stop hamster wheel of secrets and lies?

Date: 2005-09-17 09:48 pm (UTC)But yeah. I don't think clana was that bad in season 1 even. It got awful because of how the unrequited thing was dragged out so that it made them both look pathetic. But considering A&M acknowledge that season 3 clana was boring, then hopefully they will make an effort to offer something new.
BTW how are the new boobs feeling? *g*

We all know that Clark and Lana doesn't live happily ever after and just like their previous go at relationships, their happiness never lasts. But yes, I'm glad they're finally putting that dance to rest and just getting it out the way already.
That said, although it leaves a bad taste and my mouth personally, I can bear CLana. I can't ::trying to convince myself:: But my only real problem is if they use it as the major point of the Clark/Lex rift. That won't make me a happy camper.

This is a rivalry of epic proportions. Something that has a huge impact on Lex and Clark's lives. And I know there's a lot of fans who perhaps think it's cool and special that two guys are fighting to the death over a woman, but that doesn't impress me. I've said it before and I'll keep saying it,paraphrasing Jay-Z; Clark and Lex has 99 problems but a b*tch ain't one.
They can fight over Lana, I'm fine with that. That'll actually be pretty cool. But the lies and deception and distrust that Lex and Clark have between them is ample reason to be enemies. The writers don't have to be cliched about it and have the fall out over a girl.

Date: 2005-09-18 10:13 pm (UTC)I loved the "Slumber" swimming scene! The Clana of Clark's dreams would have been fun, and a cool way to have done it from the get go! When I was watching back in season one, I really liked the idea of them gradually getting together. I thought they were going to go with converting Lana from the unattainable object of desire, like the Little Red-Haired Girl, into the Girl Next Door (she *did* live next door!) and incorporate her into the scooby gang, like.
Then Lana broke up with Whitney in a low-class, cowardly way, and I wasn't so happy about them getting together anymore. Then there was the endless hamster wheel you mention. Now, apparently, Clark is going to get into Lana's drawers via a low-life lie of omission (Baby, you never *asked* if I was married!) and that will make them deserve each other, I guess, but it still bites, and I don't want to see it. Not to mention the inevitable whining, misunderstandings, accusations of secrets, actual secrets....
Blah.
I don't want to watch it, and they can't make me.
I maintain that the best possible couple would be Liona. It's not like she'll turn him evil, like her last two (maybe three, depending on how you feel about stringing guys up in fields in their underwear) boyfriends, because he's already evil. They're MENT2B4EVA!!!
