re: Home I sometimes have difficulty remembering details as far as which episode is which but I remember a lot of details from this one. I'm sure part - or even most - of it is that I first saw it while still living in the rural backwoods of a small, Appalachian town where I grew up, so some of the themes of this episode struck a chord. But I think it was a memorable episode in general, so there's that.
Having just said I remember a lot from this episode, I don't remember the details of the burial. I do recall Scully listing off a large number of birth defects after the autopsy though so possibly it was a case of death being imminent and they cut their losses? Which is still odd - a mercy killing would fit, but not still regarding it as "family", especially while it still lives, seems ooc.
