Yeah the mythology episodes seem like they're the closest to the television serialisation that we expect these days as a matter of course, as well as generally having some good character moments for Mulder and Scully (can you even imagine the X-Files without Scully's abduction and everything that came from that!), they also still feel pretty exciting and cinematic to watch when you're binge-watch a season. It feels like viewers today focus more on the classic MotW episodes being obviously superior, but Idk there were also a lot of fairly generic episodes like The Walk, The List etc to get through as well, frankly it's not like there was an episode like Pusher or Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose airing every week. I really felt like the mythology episodes gave the show a lift in the earlier seasons at least, and things would have gotten pretty monotonous if every week was instead standalones with no prior continuity being referenced
