Season 4 did a terrific job with what it had but what it had was what what mess was left behind after the end of season 3, character-wise, so that's probably the problem (sigh, Cordelia). *nods* /Cordelia, Gunn, and to an extent Fred all kind of fell by the wayside/ - Yes, such a shame. If anything, another good thing out of season 5 was Gunn getting finally some developing/arc on his own. *nods* Even if we got little enough of Fred before she became the classic damsel in distress she didn't want to be and being engulfed in Illyria. And seeing Cordy finally acting like herself and getting to exercise her own free will/not being possessed in that one ep. was too little too late and it makes me more angry than satisfied. *shakes head* /while with BtVS it's definitely a lot easier to pinpoint the fan favourite seasons/ - Oh, yes, definitely. Probably because each season has a distinctive and subtle flavor and they're less interconnected with one another so it's an easier process. *g*
