So who on my flist is still watching The Vampire Diaries next season?

And how many on my flist are watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., cause I'm seriously thinking of giving it a go now? I skipped it in the first place because I wasn't all that into The Avengers movie, so I don't know if that means that it will be an automatic miss for me...But eh I do usually enjoy Joss's other shows (well at least I loved Buffy and Dollhouse, liked Angel, and Firefly was okay), plus I've seen some enthusiastic reviews for it really picking up in the second half of season 1, so would people recommend giving season 2 a try when it airs?

The ratings dropped kind of drastically after Caroline and Klaus had sex and Katherine's death, but ratings drop for a lot of shows in the spring - I'm guessing they'll probably go up again in the fall. Also, the CW does put a lot of emphasis on Internet deals and streaming (and possibly Twitter ratings) so maybe it's not that dire.

Katherine's death is when I thought that the show lost something (and I think that's when some of my flist quit the show as well), so it's certainly interesting to hear that ratings dropped by a lot at around that time!

But yeah I guess that TvD is still one of their shows that get the most buzz, plus Delena always seem to be storming fandom polls, so it's probably considered a success by the CW's standards still :P

Hi new friend (!)

I'm really looking forward to TVD, but I'm a huge Delena fan. I can see how some others might not enjoy that. I'm really curious about how they are going to handle Damon and Bonnie's arcs this season, there is a lot they could do there but we'll see.

:waves back: Heh I did use to really like both both ships when it was Stelena as the couple and teases of a Delena build-up, but honestly I kind of soured on Delena when they actually started writing them as a couple in seasons 4 and 5. I don't hate them or anything, they can have nice moments together, but a trailer with mostly only Delena to promote the new season just isn't really my thing :P

It's definitely going to be interesting seeing how they plan to wrap up some of those arcs, and how early they will bring Damon and Bonnie back

Maybe we will get another trailer that showcases more of the supporting characters? I guess, I can see why they did focus on Damon because he is one of the most popular characters and Delena a big part of the show. But I would have appreciated a mention of Bonnie too since she is gone as well. oh well. lol

I kinda think Damon and Bonnie will be back by - at the latest - episode 6, and that is pushing it. Julie said (not that I trust everything she says mind you, lol) that we will see them and what they have been up to, that they are by no means going to just be absent.

I agree, going by TVD's track record, I'm not expecting them to drag out Damon and Bonnie's return for too long. Stefan was re-introduced fairly early last season too

And oh yeah I get why Delena focus is the smart marketing choice, it's just not a storyline that I'm hyped for, but hopefully we will get some more trailers before the premiere

I finally got all caught up on TVD so if I can (I'm hoping I can after my move) that I will be able to watch "live" on my TV instead of waiting for Netflix.

I just hope they won't have Elena devastated too long over Damon. I don't necessarily ship them but I don't hate them... just... that have her "waste away" because of Damon... I felt she wasn't herself anymore for a while...

Same with PLL that I'm still a season behind or so (middle of season... 4? on Netflix, I think).

My mom's such a TV hog, I can't watch ANY of my shows when she's there.

I'm not that interested in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. but I hear good things.

I get the feeling that Elena's grief will be a really huge deal in the beginning, but that it will just be for a few episodes as they always tend to bring characters back sooner than later. I expect Damon and Bonnie to be back by the third or fourth episode most likely. Honestly I just hope that they don't have Elena feeding on people as a reaction to Damon's death or something, I hated when they had Damon do shitty things in season 5 and then blame it all on his feelings for Elena

I haven't talked about Pretty Little Liars in my LJ yet (I should!), but yeah I've only seen the first three seasons of that, I would like to catch up on the rest so that I'm at least watching the final seasons in real time. I've just been putting it off because season 4 is £29.99 on iTunes (we don't have it on Netflix unfortunately), so I'm hoping for the price to drop first :P

In a preview, they do show Elena feeding on people and Caroline actually calling her on it. That's Damon's thing, Elena, don't copy him, please.

The stores here have PLL and TVD at 20$ each, except for the last released season of each. That or 2/40$ which is the same thing. I would get them without thinking but I will be on a budget of about 100$/m for personal expenses so... I'll have to be careful.

PLL is a good show. Hopefully, they won't go another 5 seasons before we figure out the whole A thing... Everyone is part of it and then they aren't. And I'm not even sure I actually got why "A" is all over the girls like that... Still much to catch up to, I guess.

Eww I hope that Elena doesn't sink to that level, I was already over Damon's drama with that in season 5 quite honestly!

There is a DVD for season 4 for £20, I guess that I could buy that, but I've kind of become attached to the HD copies on iTunes now :P Can you get Blu-ray for it in America, or is it only on DVD there as well?

And honestly I think it's too bad that it's been renewed up to season 7 now, they could have a much tighter show if they would just commit to ending it soon, instead of attempting to keep the mystery going forever and Troian still playing high school in her 30's. I just get the feeling that the last couple of seasons are going to be a complete mess as they attempt to string things out even more
