And yeah it surprised me too because I remember earlier in the season how it confused me in the flashbacks how Katherine almost seemed annoyed by Damon, and was practically stepping over his body to get to Stefan and whisper sweet nothings in his ear. It made the original premise of Katherine wanting to turn both of them really confusing because early season 2 had me wondering why she was even bothering with Damon at all when she seemed so head over heels for Stefan only. I think they needed to give her attraction to Damon more emphasis then, but hey better late than never!
