My thoughts exactly on Aria/Ezra. In the first seasons, I did think it a little bit off that he would still want to stay with her after knowing her age and all but I embarked on the Ezria train anyway because they were cute but all these reveals made it so much creepier. It's even worse with Allison. She was younger even then Aria at the time. Ezra has a problem. Not just the whole teacher/student thing but he likes them young. Too young and he actually doesn't mind at all. I mean, he knows he shouldn't but oh well, he does it anyway with no care in the world, really.

I hand waved their relationship a little bit in seasons 1 and 2 tbh because it seemed like they had more of the ~epic~ romantic moments then, like the kiss in the rain or the kiss outside of the school, and I'm kind of a sucker for overlooking real world concerns in that case if a tv couple look pretty enough lol. But since season 3 I dont even think that their chemistry and moments together have been all that exciting, and the excuse was always that Ezra didn't know that Aria was underage when he first fell for her. I don't know how anyone could now justify him knowing that Aria was a 16 year old high school student when he set out to win her over at that bar. I felt really bad for Aria when she was reading his notes and realising that he was using her for info from the beginning and tricking her into confiding in him, he totally took advantage of a vulnerable young girl who he knew was being stalked by A and still reeling from the death of her friend. I'm disappointed that the show wants to start present them as a romantic option again!

And yeah I'm not exactly sure of the timeline, but they were all 15 when Allison disappeared right, as the series begins a year later when they're 16 and about to start their junior year? So Allison must have just been 15 at the very oldest, and in their flashbacks I find it hard to buy that Ezra honestly believed that she was 21. Maybe he didn't realise that she was only 14/15, but he must have at the very least suspected that she was still in high school as the actress doesn't look all that that much older than 17/18, nor did Allison act all that mature that Ezra couldn't have guessed. She did not pass as 21 and of a similar age to Ezra at all in their scenes to me, she always kind of had that young girl with a Lolita complex feel about her if that makes sense?

But then hmmm I always thought that Aria was being written as a typical 16 year old and could be immature at times, whereas apparently the actors have spoken of seeing her as being very mature for her age and an emotional equal to Ezra?

Season apparently has them together again, yes. And I saw a preview for the Christmas episode. He bought her earrings and probably a dress to go with. The earrings looked like diamonds.

And he went on saying "how many ponies can you get?" and that he got 2 when he wanted one.

I just felt so weird. How can Aria take him back. She was literally destroyed from his betrayal...

She might be depicted as the most mature of the bunch, as seen in her scenes with her mom and a little bit with her brother, mostly but she's still a child... well, a teen, like Spencer. I actually always believed Spencer was the most mature of the bunch. With the way she was raised, she had no choice really...

Ezria was cute in the beginnings, now they bordered on creepy and more and... ugh...

I get you on this. She was more fun when she was part of the swimming team, I think.

I think Paige is more interesting. They still have her kinda mysterious. I mean, she's with Emily and she's all lovey-dovey and a bit on the jealous side but when she's not with Emily, there's a whole other side to her... I still haven't forgotten that Halloween episode where she had Emily's phone and hid a text or something... And what she pulled on Emily this time, with giving the info to the cops...

Anyway, yeah, something really fun or something has to happen to/for Emily. She's less and less interesting and it's sad.

Yeah I see Spencer as the most mature, I've never really seem Aria as acting all that mature for her age idk. And yeah, Ezra is just coming across as too much of a creep these days for me to buy into that relationship any more I'm afraid!

Woo hoo! Also, same here. Basically, it's a four-way tie between Spencer, Hanna, Emily and Mona for being my absolute favorite characters on that show. Alison is up there too, actually, especially most recently. I find her character fascinating.

I like Aria well enough, but I agree with your comments above that my interest started dwindling when it became more about her relationship with Ezra (which I never really cared for), and with S4 when they made him all predatory creepo and now suddenly they've just forgotten all about his behavior in favor of their relationship. Also, I really disliked the way Aria treated Hanna this season. Bah.

I didn't mind them in the beginning, but man since season 4's revelations I don't know how we're supposed to just hand wave all that away, I don't know how Aria can just dismiss Ezra dating her underage friend and having an agenda with her, but apparently it's supposed to be all good now?!

It's too bad too because, if they had of followed through more, then he could have made a really great A. Now that they've put forward and dismissed both Ezra and Toby, I don't know who else they could use that would have the same impact when we find out about them? It's just too implausible to me to have one of the main girls themselves (or their parents lol) be A, so I guess that the only option left is Allison in some way? But having Ezra as the main A would have been perfect IMO, it would have really shaken up the show and got away from the boring Ezria romance which has totally outstayed its welcome at this point and drags Aria's character down

And I should have said that yeah I also really like Allison, if I'm honest I wasn't always such a big fan of season 4, but I feel like bringing her back for season 5 as part of the main cast as been a real shot in the arm for the show and it's as good as the first three seasons again now. I should really write a separate PLL post in the next few days on how I'm finding it, I'm halfway through season 5A at the moment!

Okay, no one's got you on Friends, so I'm going to guess Chandler (but I may be saying that because he's my favorite because I super relate to him)

Nope, sorry! He was my favourite in the first few seasons, but there's another character that I love and relate too more. In some ways I'm quite different to this character, but there are certan aspects of his/her personality that I relate too

This is all too unforgivable and for her to be all but I love him and I wanna be with him is just... *shivers*

I think I'll look for season 5 when I get home. I need to know what happens and wanna see how this unfolds.

Hmmm. From what I know of you from here, you seem conscientious and analytical. So maybe that carries over into tendency to like things in order. Monica?

I might get to season 5 after that. Or The Originals. Haven't decided yet.

How are you finding the spin-off? I decided not to watch because it didn't really appeal to me, but I'm kind of curious as to how it compared to PLL?

Well, I'm glad I am checking it out but I understand how it got cancelled after 10 episodes. I am at 8 I think now.

Nothing like the "pilot" in the one ep of PLL where people look mysterious and all that. Caleb's actually a main character.

I'm watching to the end but just for the sake of finishing really. I'm not getting into it and I don't buy the character. Even Grunwald doesn't appeal to me.

Season 5 PLL is supposed to have a sort of ending to Ravenswood or something and Caleb's supposed to come back as a regular character apparently.

I'll do a post about that once I'm done, I think.

Yeah Caleb is back now, but it's been really vague so far on what exactly happened. I wasn't a fan of how season 4 handled the spin-off quite honestly, the way that it took over the Halloween episode seemed really messy, and they didn't even try to make it have sense when Hanna is encouraging Caleb to go off with some girl he barely knows??

Just finished Ravenswood. Weird.

I'll be doing my post about it now I think...
