The X-Files is returning!
The X-Files' Revived Again for 10 New Episodes at Fox
The truth is still out there, and Fox appears determined to find it. Little more than a year after the brief-but-successful return of The X Files, the network has firmed up plans for another limited revival.
Fox announced Thursday that The X-Files will return for the 2017-18 broadcast season with 10 new episodes. Stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are both signed on to reprise their roles as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Creator and executive producer Chris Carter is on board as well. Fox executives have been vocal in their interest to produce more X-Files since the last year, but scheduling conflicts held up any official renewal.
My show is coming back for a ten episode run!!!! :shaking and crying:

And I totally agree, they really didn't need to split them up in season 10, at first I was assuming that they only split them up so that they could have a story arc of them working their way back to one another as a couple, but then they never did that much with it :sighs: We know that they can still keep focused on the case and professional, we didn't even know at the time that they were together in season 7 and making a baby lol, so it doesn't have to be this big sweeping change that CC seems to dread so. Just give fans the occasional sweet moment or kiss at the opening or ending of an episode, it really doesn't take much to keep us happy!

I watched five of the six and never saw the last one of those and no one said I was missing anything . . .
Glad you're happy too. I didn't really ship them as lovers but I did want them to end up happy and well, them.

And I'm a big shipper, so maybe part of what turned me off Babylon (well among many things!) was that Mulder and Scully hardly got any screentime together, and then the finale gave them practically nothing :( That was a let-down when you've got just six episodes, and most fans are excited for the revival for the chance to see Mulder and Scully working together again. But then CC did the same with the second movie as well, and then tried to blame it flopping on Mulder and Scully being a romantic item and losing their sexual tension :deep sigh:

I think also that having ten episodes is going to make a big difference, it felt like CC didn't know how to pace the mythology when they had such a limited run last time, but ten episodes feels a lot more like a proper season

Yeah, I think having more episodes should hopefully help.
