People who hate reminded me of the KKK and the majority of these haters happen to be Chloisers, Chlarkers, etc

ED is a bad actress, & being critical of her "skills" is not bashing. If someone does bad work or stupid things - it's not "Hate" to say so. That. is how life works. (I think their real issue is Allison *is* a great actress, Chloe *is* a great character. IMO)
Nois is a fictional character, who sucks.

Omg, hell yeah.
Seriously? That's one of the stupidest comments I've ever read, and I've been hanging around LJ for a bit now. Jeez.

It makes me sick that I come across that type of crap on my flist, I don't go looking for it, and now friends of mine are even feeling driven out of a general SV icon community :/

I wonder if it might be worth contacting the mod of the comm to clarifiy the rules, I know the Doctor Who icon comm ended up banning icons which attack other fans
no subject
Yes, some fans go over the top, but some hardcore fans of each and every character do. Whoever made those icons (I saw them) was just hypocritical and it was slightly disgusting.
Besides, these days, all I see is vitriol towards Chloe/AM in a lot of fandom, so now I don't know what they were talking about. (If it was something off LJ, I really don't know because I only have exposure to one Chlark comm and what I think is the main Smallville comm and icons of course)

It's fandom, there's always gonna be people taking their comments too far. I'm surely not going to compare anyone to the KKK for expressing an opinion on the internet, even if they are obnoxious about it (as all fans can be at times)

Petty fandom drama Vs Actual historical atrocities. I *think* there might be a pretty big distinction there, but who even cares to tell any more

That is seriously offensive. Throwing fandom shit at each other like crazy monkeys is one thing, but like you said, there's a line that you just don't cross. I remember reading about something similar happening in HP fandom when one ship compared their place in fandom to slavery. The mind truly boggles.

Another group that is Hateful just so happens to be the KKK. I am saying those people who are hating are just as bad as them.
Someone should really definite for her the difference between hating a fictional character and lynching a human being.

You know what there are haters out there that make icons and say they want to KILL people. I do not hate Chloe, I do not hate Lana, I do not hate Allison either. But I see Icons that say they want Lois or Jimmy to die.
So if anyone posts with an icon wanting a fictional character to be killed off, that means you want to KILL people. Of course, it all makes sense now

I know! I saw that last night and I actually commented, which is something I never do with people that are obviously that stupid. But it's just like....WTF DUDE? WTF?
And I love that the girl is defending her icons/completely inappropriate comparsions to the KKK by being like "Well some Chlois/Chlark fans want Lois to die!" She is a fictional character omg you psycho. A FICTIONAL CHARACTER. She says that she's seen people saying that Erica should die but I've never seen any of this and I'm in the fandom and have seen some harsh things said about ED. But never anything about wanting her to die so I honestly think she's pulling this out of her ass because people want LOIS to die and she can't tell the difference between character and actor.
I can tell I'm going to be getting a lot of use out of my AM gansta icon. Chlois fans: We kill people apparently because we have opinions about fictional people.

And we're supposedly the crazy ones? It's so so ridiculous
I love that fandom keeps trying to brand us as the crazy ones. Try harder fandom. To the best of my knowledge we don't lead trolling attacks in other people's journals, email them Chlarky director's cuts, or compare them to the KKK. So....no. WE aren't the crazy ones in fandom. o_O

Oh yes. It's because we're just outnumbered and that's why we get upset, not because people compare us to the KKK or say we're horrible. Cry MOAR batshit part of SV fandom.

When anyone gets to the point when they are hating on real people, I really think it's time to take a step back and consider what is so outrageous about someone having a different view on two fictional characters roles in the story, or why someone believing that Allison Mack is a bad actress is somehow personally offensive to you. It's fine to call out any extremist who's going to call an actress names that are actually offensive, but that doesn't mean you should hate an entire group of people for their opinions on fiction, and then pull the "Oh you know I didn't mean you/you're not like the rest of them" when you get called on it. Like it's fine to hate a entire group of people just because of their ship or theory? People will still persist in believing what they want to believe I guess, but the Chlois fans I talk with sure don't sit around talking about what a whore Erica Durance is (although I can't speak on what's said about TWoP as I don't go there and have no clue if there's any justification in those claims or not). But really no one needs to feel insulted or hurt at someone not liking Lois, and you sure as hell don't need to compare your oppressors to the KKK because of characters that aren't even real.
All I ask for is that people don't start hating anyone until they actually call an actress offensive names, or they've had a bad experience with the fan in question. Don't group anyone together and hate them on sight just because of their views on fictional characters.
