Looks like I'm going to have to get used to reading fic on the comp again as there's a ton of fic rec'd already that I want to give a read :D

Actually, this might sound like a stupid question, but is there an easy way to convert .doc fic to be read on the iPad? (Calibre didn't work for me there). I have an AU Spuffy fic that was emailed to me in document form which I would love to re-read on my iPad, but I can't figure out how to concert it .epub

I do still have the original email with the link, but there is no right click and save, the only option I can find to d/l the file (as .doc)

d/l and then re-save as a .pdf - you can view on the iPad then.

That worked, thanks! :D

Oh wait hmmf I did successfully get it as a .pdf, but calibre is saying that it's locked by DRM. I'm not sure why it would be restriced cause it's not like it's an actual book to pay for, just a fic in document form. Seems rather strange

Oh well, I can still read it on my comp at least

If you use the iBook app or d/l the Kindle App (free) you can probably use those to read on your iPad? I do that all the time - might be worth a try? With the Kindle App you can email the .pdf to your Kindle email addy and it should just understand it's a .pdf and work it out. Good luck!
