Doomsday! I now like Ten much more, and he didn't annoy me once in either of the past two episodes :D DT was great! And I started my crying when Pete and Jackie were reunited. "There's never been anyone else". And as it was Rose's last episode, I kept biting my nails and hoping that Jackie and Mickey would make it *big sigh of relief*

Did anyone else find it a bit cheesy though, when Rose was being sucked into the void, and she and the Doctor were yelling dramatically. I was panicking over Rose ending up in the void, but sniggering at the same time. It was a bit over the top, no?

I first thought the ending was supposed to be Rose being a bit mad and haunted by The Doctor. He was supposed to be sealed off from her for good after all. But then it turns out she was right, and he wanted to say goodbye. But no touching. (Wasn't there supposed to be a Rose/Ten kiss though? I was sort of waiting for that). Billie Piper's crying just killed me in that scene. And "quite right too" aww

Anyway, the main thing for me is that I now like the Tenth Doctor, and the final scene has me really looking forward to the Xmas special. So I'm pleased

"What? What? What?" Heehee

my head is still spinning.

It was great when they were reunited, heeeee! and she's pregnant! even though he's from a different reality he's still her man! ohh I'm such a pete/Jackie shipper lol

LOL cheese is doctor who's middle name, they had people in crappy alien costumes in the old series which makes me LOL, but still you do get the cheesy overdramatic but entertaining scene in doctor who :P But I love it.

LOL "what?" that was great.

Not forgetting:

"No, You identify yourself!"
"No, You identify yourself!"
"DALEKS DO NOT TAKE OR-DERS!"
"You have identified as Dalek"

[identity profile] effulgentnida.livejournal.com 2006-07-08 08:19 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL that was great haha they owned themselves I did like the Daleks vs Cybermen fight though, that was cool.

I enjoyed it very much, including the angst. Didn't mind all the shouting when it looked like Rose would be sucked into the void, as for a moment I actually thought she might be a bit doomed. I did like that all the tears etc. were suddenly deflated by the unexpected appearance of the bride. I will be so excited when it's Christmas specail time.

It wasn't made explicit but I'm convinved the Dr made all that effort to say a proper goodbye to Rose because he knew how the lack of one held back and hurt Sarah Jane, and they has such a wonderful goodbye when they finally did it.

[identity profile] frelling-tralk.livejournal.com 2006-07-08 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
The ending was so sad. Billie was amazing (and I wonder if they will have her back for a guest appearance in season 3)

[identity profile] effulgentnida.livejournal.com 2006-07-08 08:23 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know if she will be back :( since she's stuck there and he said there was no way of getting in contact again. But it would be good if they did... even if he went back in time before he met and saw her in the shop or something like that.... I'll miss her.

[identity profile] frelling-tralk.livejournal.com 2006-07-08 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but they said that about Mickey after the Cyberman episodes, that Rose would never see him again. Parting Of The Ways suggested that all of the Daleks were destroyed, and they came back next next season.

I bet there's at least one episode with Rose next year, or at least a Billie guest appearance in someway, even if she doesn't play "our Rose"

[identity profile] effulgentnida.livejournal.com 2006-07-08 08:45 pm (UTC)(link)
it probably depends if they any of those yellow panel things, and still The doctor told them to not go through to this world, since it was damaging the worlds so it was dangerous... I don't know.

everythings sinking in just now, ohh I'll miss her so much, I'm getting teary.

>>Did anyone else find it a bit cheesy though, when Rose was being sucked into the void, and she and the Doctor were sort of yelling dramatically. I was panicking over Rose ending up in the bad place, but sort of sniggering at the same time. It was a bit over the top, no?

Yes, but I was willing her in. :)

[identity profile] frelling-tralk.livejournal.com 2006-07-08 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee :P

I was kind of surprised that none of them died. Not that I wanted Jackie or Mickey to die! But considering Rose is gone for good, and they won't be reappearing, it seemed that killing off some of them could have been very effective

I will say that IMO the Daleks weren't scary in this season ender at all. "You are better at one thing. Dying". Lol!

And I was secretly hoping for a surprise appearance from Captain Jack

[identity profile] bogwitch.livejournal.com 2006-07-08 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I wanted the Darleks to win. I liked their bitchiness. At least one escaped though.

[identity profile] frelling-tralk.livejournal.com 2006-07-08 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Lol yes the bit with "there are five million Cyverman, how many Daleks". Four *loves*

[identity profile] theninthdoctor.livejournal.com 2006-07-08 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
The Jackie/Pete reunion was the first part where I started losing it, too. Really good stuff.

[identity profile] frelling-tralk.livejournal.com 2006-07-08 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I've ended up really liking Jackie this season. I'm going to miss her :/

[identity profile] theninthdoctor.livejournal.com 2006-07-08 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
I especially liked her in the last two. LOVED the scene in AoG where the Doctor brings out Jackie as "Rose."

You have good taste in television, by the way, in case I hadn't said that before :)

[identity profile] frelling-tralk.livejournal.com 2006-07-08 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Why thank you *g*

AoG had me hoping that Jackie might become a companion. She plays off the Doctor really well, and it would be a nice change from the Rose/Doctor dynamic, for him to be around someone that mostly gets on his nerves

[identity profile] theninthdoctor.livejournal.com 2006-07-08 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Totally. It appears you're kind of a shipper so I know you'll disagree with me, but I don't really like going toward Doctor Who for shippiness. I'm so used to the Doctor being asexual and either a father figure (like the Third Doctor and Jo) or a "best friend" (like the Fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith).

Bridezilla scares me. I'm glad it's only a one-episode deal. I'm curious what the dynamic with the new companion will be.

[identity profile] frelling-tralk.livejournal.com 2006-07-08 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I shipped Nine/Rose more. I can kind of take it or leave it with Ten. Although GITF was my favourite episode from this season, so I'm always willing to ship some pairing I guess :P

Maybe the Bride (aka "Am I bovvered?") will be so hideous, that we'll all gladly welcome the new companion *g* I sometimes wondered if they were doing that with Rose's characterisation this season, intentionally writing her as obnoxious at times, so that she would be less missed than last seasons Rose would have been.

[identity profile] theninthdoctor.livejournal.com 2006-07-08 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe that was it. I thought Ten was too inconsistent with Rose. Like sometimes he'd encourage her, others push her back. You know it's funny though... I didn't see anything more than flirting with Nine and Rose... but I did see that he cared about her a lot, since he was so alone, she was the one that brought him out of it.

I totally agree and think Rose was purposely obnoxious at many points this season, and I have to say, Billie Piper did an excellent job with everything she was given. Not a single complaint. I don't think it was accidental. I mean, look at things like "School Reunion" when Mickey asked if he could go, how she rolled her eyes. That's totally direction.

GITF WAS a great episode, wasn't it? And yeah, Doctor/Madame du Pompadour didn't bother me at all, oddly enough. I kind of wished she could come along.

I think my favorite episode this year was School Reunion. I love Sarah Jane Smith and the way they updated her dynamic while staying true and honest to the original series really impressed me.

[identity profile] frelling-tralk.livejournal.com 2006-07-08 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I definitely enjoy the episodes with more emotion. Probably why I still prefer Nine's seasonal arc. School Reunion was great

There was speculation about Rose and Ten's arrogance leading up to something at the end of the year, but it really didn't seem too. I mean they got separated, but not as a consequence of their prior attitudes or anything. Hmm

[identity profile] tavella.livejournal.com 2006-07-09 04:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, their carefree attitude in T&C is what pissed off Queen Vic and made her create Torchwood and name the Doctor as their enemy. In an evil fanclub sort of way. And Torchwood is the one that tore the holes in the dimensions large enough for the voidship and the cybermen to come through. So, yeah, in the end karma did bit them in the ass, if not directly.

Ooh yeah, good point.

Did anyone else find it a bit cheesy though, when Rose was being sucked into the void, and she and the Doctor were sort of yelling dramatically.

Yes, i also thought it was cheesy that Pete saved her a second before she was, cause, wouldn't both have been pulled in?

(Wasn't there supposed to be a Rose/Ten kiss though? I was sort of waiting for that).

DT(it was DT, yeah?) said two kisses, i thought the second was the helmet one.

can't claim the credit for noticing this (saw it on another forum ) but I did wonder why they said Jackie's full name

It seems one of the Daleks was JAST (Jackie's full initials)

haha!

They mentioned her full name because he got it wrong in Fathers Day at the wedding.

The 10th Doctor is a lame fill-in who comes off like a silly little boy pretending to be #9.

[identity profile] frelling-tralk.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 01:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I didn't like the hammy overacting and shouting earlier on this season. The Idiot's Lantern being the worst example. But DT has been doing really good subtle work in the final two-parter :)

[identity profile] drake57.livejournal.com 2006-07-09 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
"It is pest control" best line :)

[identity profile] frelling-tralk.livejournal.com 2006-07-09 06:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee. The bitchy Daleks were hilarious, they weren't even trying to make them scary :P

[identity profile] giggleloop.livejournal.com 2006-07-23 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
just watched it last night. *sniffle* yeah, I totally thought Rose was going to die, because I'd been spoiled that she was gone after this season (grrr), but I think her surviving made it worse. it's just going to be so weird, with having two seasons with her, Jackie, Mickey, and getting used to all of them, and now them all being gone? i don't know. *sigh*

i LOVED the Daleks Vs. Cybermen, that was epic. i was a bit upset though that there was no Captain Jack. i was looking forward to seeing him all season. ah well, guess I'll have to wait for Torchwood.

[identity profile] frelling-tralk.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a real shame that Rose and Captain Jack may never get to interact again

[identity profile] giggleloop.livejournal.com 2006-09-15 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
It is, but at least Jack will be back. I can't wait for Torchwood! :)
