Honestly I don't understand why the majority of fandom seem so down on The Vampire Diaries still, yes it's obviously had its rough spots, but this season has been really strong so far IMHO!

I can't help it, I adore everything about Kai, his line delivery is so on point every time that I just want to keep rewinding scenes with him, the actor has an insane amount of charisma on-screen. I can't wait to see what they do with Kai now that he's started feeling empathy and other emotions for the first time. How great was the scene of Damon and Elena kind of eye-rolling over him describing how he felt his eyes water up, and then Elena realises how his newfound empathy could actually prove to be useful/trying to hide her smile when Damon plays on it being Bonnie's birthday! And the scene where he can't bring himself to kill Liv! (Although I wasn't really feeling it when Tyler was so adamant about not wanting to see her again for choosing that suicidal attack over him. C'mon, she was grief-stricken and had just lost her twin brother, she clearly wasn't thinking straight!)

Bonnie is still breaking my heart trapped in that dimension, the Jeremy and Bonnie moments really worked for me for once, and I also appreciated how concerned Damon was for Bon-Bon (aww at the video's of them). I can't believe that it's episode 13 and they still haven't let her find her way back though, she'll be stuck there until the season finale at this rate!

And I can't quite settle on how I feel about Steroline. They do really sparkle in scenes together, and I have *kind of* started to ship them romantically and get excited for them finally kissing, but then sometimes in scenes where they are such best buddies (the adorable moment of them falling to the ground together giggling for example), I just find it really weird to view them romantically :( I do really love them in scenes together though, heh all of their discussions on digging up the teddy were too cute. I felt a lot of RL Paul coming across actually in those moments of Stefan just observing with the snarky commentary :P

The only part of the episode that I really disliked was Enzo unsurprisingly, frankly he is repulsive and I still don't understand what the point of him is, it's reaching self-parody almost with how terribly the writers are handling his random Stefan spite. And ffs it's not like Damon shouldn't have been feeling guilty for slaughtering all of those people, hello! Yeah it's great that Sarah Salvatore unexpectedly survived, but he still attacked her pregnant mother and intended to kill her, so I'm not really sure why Stefan owed it to Damon to lesson his guilt, Enzo!

And random observation, but lately they are styling Elena exactly like Katherine with the curls. She's started to act more overtly like her too, i.e the moment last episode when she fakes out Damon with still being injured, and then laughs and reveals that it was a gotcha. That moment really reminded me of Katherine's mannerisms, I assume that they're doing it on purpose?

I've been really loving TVD lately, especially since it came back from winter hiatus. Sure it has its moments, but I think its been a strong show considering its already in its sixth season.

As for Steroline: I've been waiting for them to get together for ages now so I'm quite excited for next week when we'll finally get a kiss (according to the promo). I just hope they do the couple justice you know?

Yeah I've found season 6 much better than the second half of season 5 so far, but it seems like most general discussions of TvD consist of people hating the show still which I don't really get

And their upcoming kiss does look really beautiful! I think the promo is half of what's got me excited for them heh. Sometimes their scenes are just so buddy buddy that I guess that I have a hard time picturing them as romantic at the moment and really going with the UST moments, but I'm definitely not opposed to them either. Probably once we see them actually becoming a couple, I will be fully on board as a shipper then!

You know, Tyler is SUCH a hypocrite since he did the EXACT same thing to Caroline when he walked out on her. When she made him choose between his revenge for Klaus and his love for her and his wish for revenge was stronger, so if SOMEONE should understand how she feels it's definitely him, so well...

I think this season is SO badly written and the characters that used to be fun last season (Enzo) are such a waste right now, and I feel like Kai will be the same eventually. And they kind of turn all the bad guys good at some point, just to keep them in the show, it's so lame...

I know! I could understand Tyler being pissy at Liv overruling his objections, and telling her how disappointed he is that she knocked him out with magic, but declaring that he never wants to see her again seemed so random and harsh, her twin brother had only *just* died

I've been happy with this season, but I do agree about Enzo, his quest to get revenge on Stefan is the most random thing ever, I don't think I've seen anyone get emotionally invested in his hate for Stefan because it just seems so out of the blue and ridiculous. And his anger on Damon's behalf (how dare Stefan let Damon continue to feel bad for his mass slaughter!) is so hilarious to me when Damon is all besties with Ric again, and barely even has time for Enzo any more. It feels like Enzo keeps scrambling for a place in the show, but deciding to ruin the life of someone that we've just met isn't going to suddenly give him one

Yes yes yes. He's the most entertaining character on the show right now. His confusion and ick over having emotions! Hahahahaha.

Everything about Kai was so hilarious to me this episode :D Having to google how to process emotional pain! Water oozing out of his eyeballs like some alien creature! His relief that he still finds Delena revolting! His saying that the height is the one trait of Luke's that he couldn't cope with!

It will be interesting to see how Jo and Liv are going to respond to him now that he's got part of Luke's traits in him, there should be a lot more that they can do with his character now that he's no longer a purely unfeeling villain

YES! Someone else loves him as much as me, his scenes were especially entertaining this episode. Though, on a more serious note, I wonder if this change in him will stick or it's only temporary. If they plan on keeping the actor around, I could see them using this as a way to do it. I thought the scene where he couldn't kill Liv was especially good!

He just seems to light up every scene, I've become such a fan *g* And it did seem to me that it was set-up for that, of course at the moment it's still hard to see how he can have a place on the show when none of the main cast can stand him! Still they have different places that they can possibly take his character now anyway, and I think that it could be really fun if he did have an arc of struggling to ignore the good traits that he absorbed from Luke. It kind of reminds me of Glory and Ben from the end of Buffy season 5 lol
