Have to be Chlark. I admit though, I love a ton of Chloe pairings. I love the darkness and hotness of Chlavis and Chlex and I adore the fun and sexiness of Chlollie. However, I have always loved the sweet friendship and potential of Chlark. I I love the idea of two friends or realize they are meant to be something more.
That's why I ended up going with check buttons in the end *g* I was kind of torn between having those or radio buttons, but I wanted to pick both Chlark and Chlavis so I had to make it possible for me to pick both! And then Chlollie, my latest ship
Really though, I think Chlavis is my ultimate romantic ship for Chloe. I think she had the best chemistry with him of anyone (:swoons at the Beast kisses:) And also I'm a sucker for a show taking time with building a couple, drawing you in with the UST, so I like that the writers spend so much time on them. Both Chimmy and Chlollie, as the other "official" Chloe ships, practically started up off-screen/no time at all was spend on the early stages of their development. (I would have liked a few more Warrior moments for Chlollie, but instead the next time we saw them after that scene they were practically kissing).
I only wish Chlavis had a decent pay-off after all that build-up *sighs* I wasn't expecting them to run off into the sunset together or anything, but I was expecting a heartfelt final scene when Davis is sacrificed, and I will forever be bitter at the way the had to insert Chimmy into Failsday. It would have been better if the show had left Davis's story at the cage moment in Eternal
Although I can appreciate the doomed hotness of Chlavis and the sexy world domination of Chlex, I have to go with the sweet, profound soul-mate love of Chlark.
A big part of this is that, for me, Clark is the most important character. He's the hero. He deserves to get the girl of his dreams masquerading as his best friend. It's one of the tragedies of the show that he's denied true happiness.
I'm such a Chloe ship whore. I picked Chlark, which is obviously my ultimate OTP. But I also had to pick Chlex which was my first love. And Chlionel, which is my dirty!bad!wrong!awesome ship. And Chavis, which I think might be the ship that has the most chemistry in the entire history of the show.
LOL Same. I always find it funny when a big deal is made about Chloe fans hanging on to Chlark so much, and supposedly never being happy, even though we're actually not all that hard to please (other than Chimmy :P ). Chlavis and Chlollie both had immediate fan support, and there are tons of unofficial Chloe ships that fandom enjoy, but the writers for so long never seemed to want to give Chloe any sort of long-term love interest. And of course, after all of the different ships fans might have been interested in, the writers choose to make the first official Chloe ship the one with the only guy she didn't have chemistry with :eyeroll:
I think it will always be Chloe/Clark for me even though sometimes I don't like Clark. or when I'm like, FUCK IT CHLOE YOU CAN DO SO MUCH BETTER THAN THAT ASSHOLE. There's just so much history between them and for the better portion of Smallville Clark and Chloe were epic and amazing.
The other ship is George/Chloe, which is like the only other ship I can ship Chloe with. IDK why. I wish Steven was real and not a little boy cause they had chemistry and were adorable.
I try and separate the fail that is season 9 from seasons 1-8. I can accept that the Doomsday aftermath would have major impact on Chlark maybe, but I don't find it true to the canon they set up for Chlark to be suddenly nothing but work partners who get impatient dealing with one another. I'm sorry but, after how close they were just one season ago, there's no way that any friendship break-up for those two wouldn't involve major angst and pain. Not indifferent snooty remarks. It just feels so contrived to pull them apart at the same time as they wanted to set up romantic Clois, and Lois as the important woman in Clark's life.
Even when the show did begrudgingly have them a little closer towards the end of the season, I still feel like they are shying away from the actors chemistry (what's with the no hug?), plus they haven't resolved any of their issues and really talked about where things went so wrong for them. I just hope that season 10 can redeem things for me a little by having Clark express a lot of concern over Chloe's disappearance. I fear it will be more like "Man that sucks, hope she's okay" *goes back to making out with Lois*
I picked Chlark, although like mojotastic, I'm also a Chloe ship whore. I've shipped her in cross-over pairings with characters from shows I've never seen. I really think I could have even liked Chimmy if a) they hadn't introduced it immediately after the Vessel kiss and b) given it time to develop instead of presenting it as a done deal. I see it as a side-benefit of the show never developing a SO for her before S6 -- my imagination isn't tethered to a canon pairing.

That was one of the reasons it was hard for me to get behind them, because Jimmy was missing so many episodes there was never time to watch a romance develop. After Zod we just skip right to them making out in Wither and meh. What is with Chloe romantic developments all being kept off-screen???

Chlavis/Chlex = Dark and interesting with a side of hotness
Chlollie = Sweet and fun
Chlark = OTP cause they could be all of the above, and then some!
