I've got a permanent account here, so no, I'm not going anywhere lol. But I answered "What's Dreamwidth" because I've never heard of it before. I assume it's like LJ?
I don't plan on leaving LJ unless it gets really bad and all my flist flees to greener pastures. I may or may not have a DW account, but I won't sign up for one now even if I don't have one.
I was ready to leave for IJ, which I liked, and I got a permanent account over there for $30. I'll only go if people are srs this time, even though I like the idea of migrating. However, it's been awhile since LJ screwed the pooch.
Heh, I hate it when everyone starts talking about a new journal. I really don't want to imagine what could happen on LJ to freak everyone out enough to move.
And really, I think I'd possibly give this all up if everyone left. This LJ was hard enough to get going, starting anew at Dreamwidth just doesn't seem worth it at this point in time.
Seriously, I've never heard of Dreamwitdh before. I honestly doubt I'll ever leave LJ. It sort of feels like my home at this point and I'm comfortable here. Plus there have been a million fads of LJ exodus and none of them have ever really resulted in people actually leave LJ for good, from what I can tell.
My answer is more that I'll use both sites if enough friends/fandoms make the move to Dreamwidth. Though honestly I have no desire to move given I have a permanent account here.
I can't wait for DW to open, but I'm gonna keep my LJ until my paid accounts expires... in at about 18 months. Then, I'll either stay here, or I'm gone for good. We'll see.
I will buy an account once the open beta starts at the end of the month, but I'm not planning on moving over there, but I need a way to follow all my friends who are planning to move.
I'm buying a permanent account at Dreamwidth! I'll always crosspost here but DW is where I want to be. It's going to be amaaazing, filled with all the great features we need and they'll actually listen to users and not take down our accounts. I can't wait til fandom migrates there :)
