The first trailer for the Dead Like Me movie is out!!!!! It really really sucks that they lose Rube and recast Daisy (two of my favourite characters!), but other than that squeeeeee

Different Daisy I could cope with, but in a way I'd rather they recast with a different character.

Still looking forward to it! :)

The actor has problems with turning up on sets apparently, so we'll probably never Rube again in any future movies either :/

I wish they had just shown respect to the actress, and written Daisy out as they did Rube. But yeah definitely still looking forward to the characters that will still be around. Roxy looks on classic form at least *g*

Yeah, I saw it and I'm really going to miss Daisy and Rube. Besides Mason they were my favorite characters. :(

Not to judge just from a trailer, but the new Daisy looks sucktastic to me urgh. George, Daisy, and Rube are my favourites, and I was a Mason/Daisy shipper who had originally hoped the film would follow up on Mason/Daisy from season 2 *sniffs*

But how cute does Reggie look! She really resembles her big sister now, aww.

I'm not sure I like new Daisy, she just seems off to me.
And it won't be the same without Rube.
But ha ha, I forgot how much I love George's indifferent expressions! lmao
And her sister has grow up! O_o

She looks incredibly annoying, her voice and everything just isn't Daisy or special at all :/

And I know! Reggie looks so cute, I'm really looking forward to the interaction between her and George. And woot, they're bringing Delores back! :D

It's funny seeing the kid sister all grown up, I'm glad she gets screen time. I still hate Roxy. Oh and I like the casting for the new boss, Desmond from Lost. :D

Yeah I'm really looking forward to seeing Reggie and George interact, the scenes with Joy and Reggie would always crack me up.

I'm not sure about this new boss yet, but hopefully he will somewhat measure up to Rube at least! What did you think of the new Daisy?

The new Daisy and the old Daisy played sisters in season 2 of 24.

Ooh cool, I didn't know that. Maybe that's why they decided to use her then... Which of the two actresses do you prefer?

Probably the original, for Daisy. But I'm not a huge fan of either actress or of Daisy. Originally I strongly disliked Daisy and the actress's performance but I came around to being ok with her but she's not very important to me. Though recasting is dumb.

Yeah, I'm excited because I missed DLM terribly, but I feel like it's going to be such a letdown. I really wish they hadn't decided to recast Daisy and simply added a new character. I mean, they did that with Betty, it's a movie version, seems like that would've been a better idea. And the loss of Rube just hurts. George is my favorite, but I always found Rube to such a center to the show. Losing that... :(

And wow, seeing Reggie all grown up! Eep! I do kinda wish they had kept her glasses at least, but I do really look forward to George and Reggie talking. *sigh* I wonder what Rube would've thought...

Some people were even wondering if Reggie had been recast because she looked so different, so I guess the actress did a great job growing up! From what I remember young Reggie did mention wanting to wear contact lenses during the series? And they made the character a little geeky and awkward deliberately when she was younger, so it really works for me to see Reggie all grown up now, and looking just as pretty as her big sister.

And totally on why didn't they just write Daisy out. Laura Harris was amazing at playing that character, from the way that the recast Daisy talks in that trailer, she just seems really generic in comparison. And I don't get the same sense of this new Daisy as being from the GWTW time (not to make too many judgments from just the one trailer or anything *g*)

A DLM movie!!!! Yaaay! I can't wait to see it. I love Jasmine Guy. I also am looking forward to seeing George resolve some issues with her sister, who's really grown up! I'm with you though-no Rube! No! And nobody can play Daisy like Laura Harris. I wonder why Laura didn't return? Daisy made it worth while, and I'd love to see something solidify between Daisy and Mason. Or perhaps George and Mason, I'm good either way....

From what I heard, Laura Harris was double-booked. You'd have thought they might have waited until she was available though, considering the main reapers were only a cast of five, so it was pretty important to get all of them. Especally with losing Rube as well. Just deciding to recast seems pretty careless

And oh I'd have loved to see something with Mason and Daisy! I always thought that George saw Mason more as a brother figure, whereas Mason/Daisy are made of win *g* The adorable scene where he gives her the ring and says he will never take it back. But now the movie isn't going to have the real Daisy, I'm not as excited at all about them continuing that plot arc :/

Yeah, it would be like doing a Star Trek Voyager movie, losing Janeway, and recasting Chakotay.

Aw, I was hoping that when Mandy Patinkin walked off the set of his TV show that meant that he'd be available for the movie. Sad. Rube was totally my favorite.

He was one of my favourites too! Didn't he just disappear after walking off his tv show though? I'm not totally clear on what happened there
