I'm torn. I mean, it could be a positive jump start for new fic; however, I invested so much time into the television series and the characters the actors portraying them made come alive. It's kind of like recasting an actor mid-series. Probably not a good idea.

I don't even consider BTVS: The Movie to be canon. I've never seen it.

It's not really canon I don't think, Pike is never mentioned in the Buffy series anyway
