Cordy was depicted as the Queen Bee... well, in her case Queen C. Superficial, bitchy, shallow, kinda dumb. But we got a few glimpses here and there of another side of her like the whole "being alone in a crowd of people" speech to Buffy and how sweet she was with Xander in the relationship... how she kept the necklace with her after the broke up until he asked for it and all.
I guess growing older, in another city, and not depending on her father's money and not getting what she wants with a snap of a finger basically would change a person.
She wasn't a favorite on Buffy and although she wasn't on AtS either, I loved her, how the character grow from the selfish being to one of the most selfless, really... until season 5, obviously. I hated her there. Up to Spin the Bottle, I still kinda liked her but after that... it's like she was someone else entirely... and she was, but you know what I mean...
